Mr. Miller was a great help to me and my family. I moved to Seattle when I was just out of college and met my wife. I knew she had been addicted to drugs before we got married and I thought that together raising a family she would always stay clean. But after our baby was born she went back to using. I wanted to move back to Georgia where my parents are, but my wife was not willing. I tried everything I could to work with the system and the law to get help for her and to protect my child. It became very difficult because i had to work full time and I could not trust her with the baby. So I had to cover the cost of day care which pretty much financially bankrupted us. My parents thankfully offered to cover the costs of a lawyer. A friend of mine knew Mr. Miller and so I called him. When I told him what had happened to my wife, he told me about his time on drugs and about how he recovered and It made me feel better that someone so smart could make the same mistakes. He helped me navigate the seemingly impossible obstacles that I was facing. Mr. Miller is the reason I live back in Georgia with my daughter today, and I will always appreciate the help he gave us.

Recently, I consulted with Mr. Miller regarding a custody issue involving my oldest child. He immediately was very open and upfront regarding his past drug issues and having been disbarred. I felt even more comfortable working with Mr. Miller after discussing that. In fact, much of my custody situation involves drug issues. He has a level of understanding that goes beyond other attorneys that I have spoken with or worked with in the past and it has been greatly appreciated. He was able help me resolve the problems going on without having to go to court in a way that worked best for everyone, especially my child. I highly recommend Mr. Miller. Everyone has a past and people like him are a valuable resource to the community.

I contacted Mr. Miller about harassment issues because I wanted to take legal action. He consulted with me and gave me a complete assessment of the process and the likelihood of a positive outcome. He also told me that he had lost his law license because of drug addiction -- I was surprised, because he was so professional! In the end, he talked me out of going to court, which turned out to be the best decision, and probably saved me a lot of money.

I contacted Mr. Miller over a civil issue about nuisance neighbors. Before we discussed the specifics of my case, I was amazed by his honesty regarding the fact that he had been disbarred a decade ago for a drug problems -- I think his candor made me trust him more, and that level of trust increased once he began working on my case. He was very up-front about the likelihood of winning a civil case, and the costs involved once a counter-suit was filed. The issues were finally resolved with a settlement that largely solved the problem -- and with a minimum of expense.

Mr. Miller represented me in a D.U.I. case and was really sensitive to the issues of substance abuse and recovery. He helped me a lot. He was able to explain the whole process in language I could understand and kept me really well informed about everything that was happening in my case. He got me a great resolution and helped me learn that I had a problem I needed to deal with outside the criminal charge. He helped me understand that many people sometimes go through problems with addiction at some point in their life. I think AVVO's rating of Mr. Miller is unfair. 15 years ago he had a personal issue with addiction that he dealt with successfully after it caused him to be disbarred for a few years. I think that has made him a much better person and a much better lawyer for what I was going through. It seems unfair to label someone negatively for a lifetime as a result. Mr. Miller was an awesome attorney for me and I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone who needs a sensitive and intelligent lawyer to get through a difficult time. He is really experienced in criminal law and was a prosecutor in New York City and Seattle for a long time before becoming a defense attorney.
