Contacting Lara was the worst mistake ever. I explained the situation to her and also asked her about her fees and prices. She was really intuitive and realized I’m not wealthy and she offered to represent my son and bill the district, I naively accepted it. Well, long story short she attended to one IEP meeting with me and Lara sent her secretary to the second EIP meeting. Her secretary didn’t represent me well and now we have an EIP that doesn’t include my son’s needs. I tried contacting Lara about the situation, and she cowardly sent her secretary to tell me that she will no longer work in the case. The main problem is my son is left out in the limbo and will loose this school year probably. Lara is so unprofessional, she might me affective and help other families as long as there is enough money, but I wish she would have been honest about it. Lara told me she was going to help us regardless and she made things worse.

Mike and Alex from Cedar law saved me from having hundreds of thousands of $ invested in my doctoral degree with no possibility of a future job to pay for it. They are friendly and responsive and they get results! I am delighted to be back in school to finish my degree!

We started working with Lara Hruska from Cedar Law on a rather difficult case. My daughter who has anxiety and ADHD was “helped” with an IEP that forced her out of school. A BIP was set up that made it impossible for her to attend, preying on her disability, but not forbidding her to attend. Lara supported us along the way, revising the communication with the school, serving as the buffer between us and the school. She is very knowledgeable, was a great advocate for our family, made it possible for my daughter to fix her grades, and continue her schooling in a great placement, with the district paying for it. All of this would not have been possible without Lara’s passionate appeal and excellent advocacy skills. She went above and beyond her duties and I would recommend her wholeheartedly. Lara continues to help us whenever new issues appear. If you need help with special education issues, are faced with a difficult or an easy IEP case, Lara is definitely the one to call!

First and foremost I have to say that Lara, Jessica, and their entire team are amazing to work with and have helped us to truly get our kiddo into the best educational setting we could ever have hoped for. It feels a little odd writing such a glowing review given that we actually ended up losing our Due Process case seeking outside placement for our son. What makes me feel so compelled to write this is that the reasons we lost have nothing really to do with Lara’s representation, arguments or overall handling of our case. A case is really, after all, presented (good or bad) and then decided on by a judge, who is human and can make bad calls. That combined with the sheer magnitude of similar cases being filed against school districts on the heels of the Covid-19 changes, makes cases like this really difficult to win. Lara and her team knew our case and all aspects of IEPs and 504 plans and the laws surrounding them inside and out and walked us through every step of the process. She spent many many hours with us preparing and likely only billed us for half of the time she actually spent working on our case. We knew going in that there was no guarantee and we would not change the path we chose, as our son is now in a fantastic school and thriving in ways that he never had before. We would not have ended up where we are now if it hadn’t been for Lara’s and our son’s psychologist’s recommendation for outside placement. If you have to face fighting a school district to get your child what they need, Lara and her team live and breathe education law and are compassionate and skillful advocates for kids and families, and you could not make a better choice.

Cedar Law PLLC, staff, Chris Williams, and each team member are extraordinary professionals. They respond quickly and their approach is kind , professional, and knowledgeable. Chris resolved our legal problem in a week. He often gave updates and his kind empathy and neutral approach made us feel heard, giving us the pros and cons in a situation that can be overwhelming and emotional. Highly recommended!

Lara helped me tremendously when I was in graduate school studying to be a Physician Assistant and was in need of accommodations. She wrote me an amazing letter that enabled me to have the accommodations I needed to complete my degree and start my career. PA school is incredibly stressful, fast paced and challenging. I became pregnant during my clinical rotations which added a layer of physical and emotional stress to that time. Knowing Lara was in my corner, finding the words I couldn’t, and standing up for me, took a huge weight off my shoulders. She is a powerhouse, whose ferocity is matched only by her empathy and kindness. I know I’m not alone in feeling stronger knowing she’s a phone call away.
