Exceptional dedication and care, knowledge and experience. Erica was able to get me the impossible 10 years ago - full custody of my 5 year old daughter after I divorced an abuser. She was the first one to tell me my circumstances will unlikely yield a full custody, I replied I HAD too. We got full custody and a 5 years DVPO, Erica did it! Last November after 6 months of harassment , treats and coercive control , I found myself in court again to ask for another DVPO protecting my daughter and I from the same man, her “ father “. She told me to hold off for a few months before she knew it worth spending the money on representation. Once we got there , she told me and once again, she got us another DVPO. Erica has a heart for her clients, she made the difference in the life I and my daughter have. I brought this law office on to help represent me with a very difficult divorce that took way longer than it needed (not because of the law firms doing). They were super informative and helpful with all the legal jargon and court date filings. Caitlin Cortez was amazing, polite, and extremely knowledgeable and professional during the whole process. My only complaint/concern was whenever I got paperwork back that I had to approve there were some mistakes in the “time line stories” and spellings of names and ages of people (this is the only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars, because there is always room for improvement), but all in all they did a really great job.

This review which is over a year past our divorce was finalized: Now: Make Note- I WAS a client at Knauf Santos law. - This review is under an old email address combined with me, my ex and my sister. Not that any of that matters. Simply, before you engage, call the clerks office in Snohomish County to obtain court records (free) and check her client list. They are all very happy to talk. Extraordinarily similar stories. Yes she is $575 - I did a ton of research before posting this. -this attorney is SO paranoid they are up at 11:00pm arguing with their former clients. That’s why the comments below are fake. In one the “client” refers to an attorney that doesn’t work with Knauf Santos Law. I have sent to my ex and she 100% agrees and will post her own review tomorrow. - This is how she operates. Don’t believe the positive reviews. I have spoken to many of Erica Knauf Santos’ clients in Snohomish county by simply asking the clerk for her public case files. I honestly think this woman is mentally imbalanced. My ex wife and I had a friendly separation and we’re having a friendly divorce until I made the mistake of hiring Erica. She created so much chaos and I learned she was contacting my daughters school, after school and medical providers behind my back. She made up a fake psychological diagnosis for my ex wife and would constantly say things like “I have never seen such a GAL/doctors note/school evaluation such as this in my career” to benign documents. The judges were snickering at her. It was ridiculous. She then charges WAY over standard. Some $575 an hour which is ridiculous and refuses to do anything to lessen tensions like mediate. I am so glad I followed my gut and fired her. Have heard the same story over and over. I still can’t get her to return my retainer but I don’t know if a few thousand dollars is even worth dealing with her any further. My advice: find her past clients and ask around. It’s free and easy. Wish I’d done that first. I am convinced her positive reviews are purchased and fake. She’s insane.

I had a very challenging case in so many ways from start to finish. It was never a dull moment! Erica and her team of Caitlin and Dona absolutely saved me in so many ways. I was awarded 78% custody of my kids in the end, and a very fair financial settlement which is saying a lot in the State of WA. My case was a roller coaster that many would say only happens in nightmares, but the team was able to deliver a very prompt and professional approach to the case and also keep my mental state in check 🤣. I couldn’t be happier with how it all ended on a positive note, and cannot thank everyone at KSL that was apart of this journey with me. This firm took on my Domestic Violence case and is now handling my divorce. I started my DVPO case with a different lawyer who only made the situation worse. I went on to interview with several firms and this one stuck out because they felt genuine and like advocates and that's exactly what this experience has been from the point I hired them, on. Their willingness to slow down and understand my case as well as great attention to detail is what won the domestic violence petition in my favor when it felt like all odds were against me. They are experienced, dedicated, professional, personable and they care. I highly recommend working with this firm.

This is the best firm to represent anyone with a complex, narcissistic abusive family law case. I was referred to Erica when my case was ongoing, and at that time I really needed someone who understood my case and would genuinely fight the legal battle being 100% on my side. Erica and her amazing team Caitlin and Dona have been &still are awesome!! They communicated very well in updating me about the case. I loved that Erica &her team held meetings to discuss the best plan for my case. They listened to my opinions /suggestions. I felt supported by a team who were and still are 100% on their client’s side. The burden felt lighter and bearable because I wasn’t alone it was their burden too. Their Professionalism is top notch! My case went to trial, I was well prepared of what happens at trial ahead of time. During trial I choose to go to the office which greatly helped whenever we needed to brainstorm any issues. Hired Erica to help me with the custody of my child. During the initial consultation with her she seemed to know what needed to be done right away. Yet it turned out that half of her actions were not even necessary nor accurate, nor in their ability (as wage garnishment for example). But she was claiming she'd do it. It was all done and said just to expand this process longer and for me to pay them longer. All the communication is only via email; towards the end it seemed that they were not even reading my emails and not hearing what I was asking them to do. Multiple times I had to repeat myself saying I couldn't afford the trial for $30k that they were pushing me to go to, and I was asking for mediation - they tried to convince me that it won't work in my case and I'd waste more time and money. After emailing them and complaining that I'm not seeing any results with them, and that I've already spent close to $20k and it's been over a year, Erica responded to my email after a month of receiving it stating that it hurts her feelings that I'm complaining, she even took some sentences from my old emails to them to "prove" that I am wrong, and basically if I'm not happy they're no longer going to "help" me. And she charged $395 for this response! Ended up finding a mediator who explained how these attorneys work - all they care about is money for them, they do not care about families or your children - and filed for final orders with my ex with no problems and for free, versus paying additional $6k for Erica to "help" me in mediation or going to trial.
