TL;DR Kirstyn is an amazing family attorney and you should not hesitate to work with her or this law firm. Kirstyn has been my attorney for nearly 2.5 years. She is outstanding and would recommend her without reservation. My original attorney announced retirement while I was in the throes of the divorce process. I had to find someone quickly and that haste led me to an attorney that was less than impressive. I had to bounce quickly from that and then onto another attorney that was just not the caliber that was needed for my situation. It was then I took my time to find someone that was going to work well. Given the nature of ongoing conflict with the other party, it was important to find someone that is going to default to a collaborative approach but be appropriately assertive if the other side was completely uncooperative or unreasonable. The circumstances of divorce and other related legal concerns with the other parent can be emotional. Kirstyn is looking out for me but also isn’t afraid to be brutally honest when I need to understand if I should be considering a different perspective. It is clear to me that her experience with all sorts of situations provides her clients a value that is essential especially when the other party is difficult. I found her at her previous firm and when I called the main office and asked the front desk admin who they would choose as their attorney, there was zero hesitation for her to recommend Kirstyn.

Being charged with child abuse by prosecutors and then getting "Founded" of child abuse by CPS left me devastated to say the least. I had already hired a criminal defense attorney to address the assault charge I was being charged with. It was not until I had gotten a letter in the mail from CPS saying that they "founded" me of child abuse that I then called my criminal defense attorney. My attorney then explained to me that they were two completely separate matters which would require two separate attorneys. My criminal defense attorney on this matter then referred me to Denise. Here is why I recommend Denise as an attorney. In my case I hired Denise to appeal the CPS matter. My first time talking to Denise on the phone I was full of emotional trauma and had a lot to say about what had happened. She listened to everything that I had to say about what happened with this matter but also how toxic the relationship between me and my mom biological daughter had become over the last year. Denise did not pass any judgement against me nor did she profile me as what I was being charged with. When we spoke about the facts of what had happened and that there was no intent and I was just playing with my non biological daughter which lead to an accident we then used everything we could to prove that what had happened was "truly" non intentional. Denise typed out a very professional, truthful and sincere declaration on my behalf and submitted mailed it into CPS for what we hoped would be over turned. As the months went by my criminal defense attorney had gotten a he assault charged dismissed and not too much longer after Denise had gotten the CPS matter over turned. Denise is not just someone who will go up to bat for you but she also will listen to you have to say even if it does not benefit your case. Which at the time when I found Denise is what I needed. I needed a professional such as her to listen to me and hear and understand how much suffering I was truly going through and that it was an honest mistake. Thanks to Denise getting my case with CPS over turned I will be able to do things such as volunteer at schooling events or girls scout events with my biological daughter in the future. Miss Gagner is a 5 star attorney and I have the up most gratitude for her. If you are being charged with something and you are innocent or even if you are guilty. Denice was able to clearly and concisely build an excellent defense strategy that resulted in a positive outcome for us. Was always available to walk us through our options and advise us on possible outcomes. We always felt our best interests were being protected and she truly fought to preserve our rights. When a 911 call for a medical emergency unexpectedly turned into an assault DV charge, I was thrown into a panic. Thanks to Google I found AVVO, but was overwhelmed by all the choices and similar-sounding attorney profiles. I chose Denice because a friend's attorney (who doesn't handle DV cases) recommended her and I could tell as soon as I met her that Denice knew her stuff. I'm so glad I went with her! My case was dismissed early on, which itself was a victory and relief, and Denice was very competent and hard working. She proactively contacted the prosecutor and went to bat for me even before the arraignment. She explained everything clearly and thoroughly and had strategy. You could tell she was very knowledgeable about the law and the judge and the system, and she was conscientious. She was also great about communicating with me and returning my texts--even when she was on vacation- and she was always on time. I felt so much more confident in Denice's care; it was comforting to know she was fighting for me. One other plus: I found that some of the lawyers listed on AVVO whom I called would not actually be the one handling my case-- some less experienced attorney in their firm would. I unfortunately had my third DUI that I was dealing with, with strict probation and courts in 2 different counties. Denice had her work cut out for her. She is very well connected with Seattle legal programs, judges and prosecutors. I knew she would be able to help me best. One courts probation was looking at adding charges and jail time just for getting a third DUI. However Denice made it all ok, this probation department was hammering at me for months, but in the end Denice won, I didn’t have more charges added due to Third DUI being a deferred prosecution. She helped me with so much, she coordinated all my reports from treatment agencies, she mitigated issues with my repulsive probation officer, she went above and beyond numerous times. She made my probation office look foolish and dishonest in front of the judge and prosecutor. She was a warrior and a God send. Without her I’d be in jail, and not getting the help that I needed to get through some very horrific attacks on me, which is why I was self medicating. Thank you Denice, you are the best!
