During the first 70 years of my life, the only need I ever had for an attorney was to handle real estate transactions and will preparation. That changed in November 2019, shortly after my 71st birthday, when I was notified by an employee of the Attorney General of Washington State that a lawsuit had been initiated against several agencies of the State by a former resident of a group home where I had worked more than 40 years ago. The suit alleged generally that the group home had tolerated a pervasive atmosphere of sexual abuse and, specifically, that I had repeatedly sexually abused the individual who filed the suit. After the initial shock of learning about the entirely false allegations wore off and I determined that it would be most prudent to obtain legal representation, a criminal defense attorney who is a family friend here in Illinois advised that I would need to retain the services of an attorney who is licensed to practice in Washington. After she consulted with professional contacts in that area to identify a highly reputable, experienced legal practitioner, she provided to me the name of David Marshall of the Marshall Defense Firm in Seattle. I will always be grateful to her for that referral. From the outset, Mr. Marshall earned my trust, respect and confidence. When I left an introductory voice mail message for him on the day before Thanksgiving 2019, I had no expectation that I would receive a response prior to the next business day (the following Monday). Thus I was amazed to receive a return call from him on Saturday evening of the holiday weekend. After he listened to me describe the situation, he explained what services he could provide and what the terms of our relationship would be. His demeanor and tone put me quickly at ease, sufficient to the extent that I felt comfortable asking why he called me on a Saturday evening. His response was that he did not think that I would want to wait an unnecessarily lengthy period of time for assistance. Indeed! Until he called, that weekend had been one of the worst of my life. During the initial few months that followed, Mr. Marshall set clear expectations of what information he required of me in order to provide the best possible representation. Our written and verbal communications were productive and concise. Subsequently, for almost one year we had no contact until December 2020, when Mr. Marshall advised me that the plaintiff’s attorneys had notified him that they sought to depose me. During the five weeks that followed, Mr. Marshall guided me through all aspects of preparation for the deposition, including a mock session, and shared critically important feedback and advice that were invaluable to me. Thanks to his support, the deposition was a tolerable and relatively stress-free experience. I shudder to think of what kind of an ordeal it might have been otherwise. Although the case is still pending adjudication with a tentative trial date in November 2021, I have been informed that I am deemed a “lay witness” and not a defendant. Therefore, I am uncertain as to whether or how I might be further involved. However, if I believe that circumstances dictate a need for further representation, I will immediately retain Mr. Marshall to resume his advocacy. During the 22 months that I have known him I have found him to be a compassionate, ethical and dedicated professional. I have developed a complete and absolute degree of respect, confidence and trust in him. I will be forever grateful.

What a complete rip off! If I could give no stars, I would. I wanted a simple divorce w/ no children. Should have been done in 60 days. All they did in 60 days is get my signature. They claim to have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I asked for a refund and they won't give me one. That's not a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Also I sent them a money order for $175 to file my claim, that never happened. I asked for that to be returned to me, still nothing. I filed my divorce, had him served, got a response from the court, and a reply from him in less that 12 hours. I plan on contacting the BBB, I'm out a total of almost $500 and all this company did was print out my answers and get my signature. You should be ashamed for taking advantage of people.

Over Priced and lacking of staff

ITS A SCAM DO NOT USE!!!!! THEY TOLD ME ONE THING AND DIDN'T FOLLOW THRU THEN CLAIMED I COULD GET A REFUND AND NEVER LEFT A MESSAGE FOR ME!!!! WROST COMPANY EVER I WILL BE LETTING THE BETTER BUSINESS KNOW. They denied my refund request because they never left a message trying to contact me..

Online divorce did a great job initially. The final documents did not move ahead for a whole month (they seemed to be just sitting there) They did not reach out or keep me informed. The "hold' time on the phone was a half an hour sometimes. I will keep you posted as to the outcome, as I am still unaware of exactly what is happening (even though I have called 3 times in the last week!!)

Scamming money from my credit card every month. I don't even need or use your service. I will be turning this company in to the authorities!

It took about nine months but they negotiated a sentence that I and my family could live with when far worse were possible. I was even able to keep working.

I was hit by a car while riding my bike. Andrew helped me with securing a fair settlement. Because of the prolonged time it took to physically recover (occupational therapy, medical appointments) during COVID, I was worried that this might affect how the whole affair.
