Nina looked nice and talked nice and always upbeat with her fees and that's all you can expect from her. She didn't care about my case, didn't represent me well, but she is very quick about get herself a ride and paid. I didn't know why I had her, she is not helping; totally useless, never again.

My wife and I had a very pleasurable experience with Steven Wee, and his associate Christy Risley, while working with the Legacy Law Group. Steven assisted us with our Estate Planning, and covered all the bases to ensure our properties and assets were protected and distributed to our children within our desires upon our deaths. We recommend anyone searching for the proper ways to deal with the legalities of the WA State system to contact, and contract Steven's Services through the Legacy Lay Group.

Wow! What a team! Steven and Christy helped me with an unusual and emotionally wrenching situation after the death of my brother. This involved a potential messy intestate probate, a trust, and property, where I wanted a paid consult to get my bearings. In extremely short order, they were able to make the situation clear and simple, found an elegant solution to my most pressing problem, and I was able to proceed forward toward a quick resolution. I appreciated their flexibility in working with me in the way that I needed. Extremely knowledgeable, and kind. Highly recommend!

For over 3 years I was embroiled in a complicated litigation as the Defendant. I met with Robert Hahn for a consultation. The first thing I noticed was the bold copy of the U.S. Constitution on the wall, as a honorably discharged Veteran it made me think Robert was the right Lawyer for me. After he reviewed my case, I was impressed right away with the fact that Robert was able to explain bankruptcy in a way that I could understand, based on my particular case. At one point Robert's attention to detail caught a payment issue that I had overlooked. Robert's staff was always attentive, courteous, and responsive. When I made the decision to fight the case Robert & Kathy made sure all the items needed were in place in case things went bad. Even going through the stress of litigation It was re-assuring to have The Law Office of Robert C. Hahn III working with me. Thank you Robert & Staff. Sincere regards,

Rob represented me when a negligent driver ran a red light. I did not see it coming and there was nothing I could do to avoid the collision. The collision happened while I was on the job. Since the case happened while I was on the job we had to deal with the insurance company for workman’s comp and the insurance company who represented the negligent driver. The process was very complicated and I was totally confused and frustrated after trying to deal with both insurance companies. It was clear that they were not there to help me. I hired the firm of Crary, Clark Domanico & Chuang and I was amazed how quickly they took control of my case, stood up to the insurance companies and got my case resolved. I trusted their advice and we were able to take all the available insurance coverage from the negligent driver and get me back to work. I was extremely satisfied with the representation I received and would highly recommend their firm for your personal injury claim.

I was walking in a neighborhood below my house when I was attacked by two German Shepard dogs. One bite me hard on my leg and broke the skin. I was dazed and in pain and called my husband who immediately came to pick me up. I called Animal Control and gave the officer all the required information. A few days later, I contacted Attorney, Rob Crary. He came highly recommended through mutual friends and associates. I was advised to seek legal action because these dogs attacked unprovoked and were loose. My initial conversation with Attorney, Rob Crary and Tami, his assistant was very through and professional. I was informed in a timely manner and kept up to date as to the status of my case throughout the entire legal process. I found Rob Crary to be a very skilled, knowledgeable and effective attorney. My claim was resolved to my satisfaction. I appreciated Rob Crary's legal expertise and would highly recommend him.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Spokane Valley, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
