There are no words that can adequately express my sincerest gratitude for Mr. Albrecht and his wonderful staff! When all hope seemed to be lost, he went above and beyond the duties of an attorney. Actions speak louder than words and Mr. Albrecht's actions sent a clear message that my case was as personal to him as it was to me. I can't thank you and your kind, considerate, and courteous staff, specifically Melanie, for how you treated me during a time that has been life changing for myself and my children. The crime that was committed against me has forever changed me and reshaped the future for my family. Because you expressed your belief in me and the validity of the horrific situation I had endured, it gave me the strength to continue fighting even when it seemed hopeless. Again, I can't thank you enough for your service and for believing me! Thank you!

I contacted the Albrecht Law with an enquiry regarding a recent auto accident in which I was involved. Navigating the insurance company relative to personal injury, general damages etc. can be a challenge especially considering that the insurance adjusters are working very hard to decrease THEIR costs. Matt generously offered me his time and expertise and seemed genuinely interested that I establish a clear path to a proper, fair settlement. He was organized, professional and caring - all valued & desirable attributes of a good attorney. His insights and advice were immensely helpful to me and I appreciated it enough to author this review.

No pressure attorney. Extremely good results. If you need assistance with legal matters Matt is the way to go. I'll never go to another attorney and will refer only him from now on.

As a small business owner from California, that desperately needed a commercial lawyer from Washington State at an affordable price, I was lucky to be referred to Mr. Matthew Albrecht by an associate. After speaking with him, and not having many options left, I decided to give him a try. Almost a year later, I can honestly say it has been, hands down, one of the best decisions I’ve made for my young company! I’m sure you know litigation can be a super stressful endeavor, one that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Rest assured that Matthew and his team were always super nice, really understanding and really took the time to understand all facets of my case. Time and time again he would “reel me back in” and provided honest realistic feedback and always helped me understand the pros and cons of any decisions that were presented to us. You can tell he has a passion for what he does, and he’s really good to boot! Yes, we prevailed in our case, and I can absolutely attribute this win to Matthew and his team’s efforts. I’ll end this review with the “I hope I never have to use him again” blurb, but if I did, I know I would sleep a lot better knowing I was in good hands. You can rest easy as well, all you have to do is give Matthew a call, you've got nothing to lose!

For over 3 years I was embroiled in a complicated litigation as the Defendant. I met with Robert Hahn for a consultation. The first thing I noticed was the bold copy of the U.S. Constitution on the wall, as a honorably discharged Veteran it made me think Robert was the right Lawyer for me. After he reviewed my case, I was impressed right away with the fact that Robert was able to explain bankruptcy in a way that I could understand, based on my particular case. At one point Robert's attention to detail caught a payment issue that I had overlooked. Robert's staff was always attentive, courteous, and responsive. When I made the decision to fight the case Robert & Kathy made sure all the items needed were in place in case things went bad. Even going through the stress of litigation It was re-assuring to have The Law Office of Robert C. Hahn III working with me. Thank you Robert & Staff. Sincere regards,

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Spokane Valley, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
