Cindy and her team did a fantastic job with my case. I petitioned for an increase in residential time to bring me a little closer to 50/50; my ex responded with a notice of intent to relocate our kid hours away. Somehow, ten months later, Cindy got me to full 50/50 time (which seemed legally impossible at the start) and an effective stop on any further attempts to move my kid. Cindy's experience, organization, skill, demeanor, and high-integrity approach were all key reasons for the success of the case. She listened very well, helped me understand the process, provided wise strategy throughout the year-long case, kept up with each development, made every deadline, and argued clearly and concisely and compellingly, both in writing and in court. She understood case law better than other attorneys. When other attorneys twisted process, misrepresented history, or became unresponsive to messages, Cindy was able to call them out or get them moving. In court, Cindy was well prepared for every hearing. Her presentation was the same as her presentation in writing and in private discussions: she was calm and cordial, but sharp and hard to faze. She relied on substance rather than volume or tone to make her points. The contrast with other attorneys was notable to me, and I'm sure the judges noticed too. Cindy's consistency was indicative of her high integrity. She was not a mercenary; she was obviously trying to live her values and work toward good outcomes for kids and some degree of justice. This lined up well with my own values and made Cindy easy to work with her and trust. Also, for many months I was terrified I would lose my kid.
