As an edit to my previous review, I have to change it to one star. At this point I feel like I have been fleeced over the years for over 10 grand, I have been ignored multiple times (both from calls and emails through the entire year), have had the wrong paperwork filed (granted I can accept I gave them the paperwork with the wrong dates, but three lawyers looked at it at the firm and no one caught it), swapped my representative the day I had court to someone I didn't know, and after talking to another lawyer, didn't pursue legal avenues that could have been available. In good conscious I cannot recommend them unless drastic changes are made. Edit: I just received a call from him to explain that the representative that I was working with in his law office no longer works there, and at that point it would have explained much of the ignored called and responses. I told him I would edit this review and make sure to update it to be favorable, but he decided it would be a great chance to lecture me about how much extra work they did for my case for "free" and how many billable hours it could have been when it was their mistake after having three lawyers check the paperwork that led to that situation, having my representative be swapped the day of court and not bothering to contact me to let me know my representative left his firm. I hired him for a flat fee of 2500 dollars, and I am extremely grateful he allowed me to split it between two months, but if payment is an issue because my billable hours would have been higher due to their choices, then he shouldn't offer that option anymore.

Rob is an awesome attorney! He has always been their for me & fought hard for my defense & always represented me properly . I highly recommend rob Melvin as your defense !! Couldn't say enough great things about this man! Hes a great attorney & a family man . 5 stars !

Rob did not talk to me as a criminal, because I am not. But still he told me straight and honest and I'm back with my family. He is a down to earth person and everything I want for a person defending me. The thing that made me trust him is he is a family man first and an attorney second.

Saw him work in court quite a bit in Pierce County when I was a Public Defender there. Great Attorney. Very friendly, knows the law, and works hard for his clients.

In the past when I have heard people say they "have" an attorney I could not relate. I had never had a need for an attorney until a few years ago. Now I can say I "have" an attorney or actually attorneys, Spencer Freeman and Kim Shomer. From the first time you speak with them you can tell they are very intelligent and experienced. I felt very confident that I could place my trust in them to help us through our case. If you are looking for a firm that will represent you with confidence and the experience to actually fight for you rather than be pushed around Freeman Law Firm is the right choice.

If you want your case taken seriously and to not just be given a bunch of bs excuses constantly I would definitely consider finding another lawyer. I hired Rob Melvin as my attorney in January 2020 for an easy 3rd party custody case where all parties were agreeing. Paid my retainer and talked to his secretary once. Fast forward to April 2020, the Corona virus pandemic had shut everything down in March. I hadn’t heard from Mr. Melvin or his staff in several months so I reached out. Mr. Melvin has no idea that not a single person on his staff hadn’t contacted me to get my case going at all. I got a lot of run around and unfilled promises. I was told that I would have some form of court papers April 16th. That day comes and goes and again I didn’t here from anyone from Mr Melvin’s office so I called again. I was informed finally on April 27th that the judge wouldn’t sign anything on the 16th and they put my case to be signed again on June 2nd. I called June 3rd to inquire about my case to find out, again, about how they never told me that my case got pushed back again because Mr. Melvin didn’t have all the paperwork that he needed for the judge on June 2nd. Mr Melvin was also on vacation during this time so I had to speak with his clueless associate. My case is finally completed, but I would never recommend Melvin Law or Robert Melvin to my family and friends if they need legal support.

Mike is my hero. I regret that I did not choose him at the beginning, and finally I was very lucky to have his help, the result is Dismissal of the case. Many thank you to Mike and his assistant. very professional and efficient, most important is Mike work hard to all his case. Thank you so much for your help, I will recommend Mike to everyone who need a Top Lawyer at Tacoma.
