Patti has represented me for over a year now, in my very high conflict DVPO and custody case. Not only does Patti take the time to truly listen, she shares all scenarios so I am fully informed before I make my decisions. Patti continuously has my safety, and best interest, as well as my children's safety and well-being as a top priority in my case. She is an absolute pitbull, and rock star. Someone you want on your team in high conflict and complex cases. I can not say enough wonderful things about her!

Patti is INCREDIBLY well versed in the law, and very creative in her approach to justice and serving her client. Patti only takes cases from people that she believes is doing the right thing. Patti helped me during one of the worst traumatizing years of my life fighting against horrific allegations from a narcissistic ex husband who had tried his best to set me up with a horrific CPS stunt, to be an unfit mother, a child abuser, and crazy. My son and I both incurred terrible PTSD from his plot to destroy my relationship with my 5 year old son, as he did with his first marriage and his first son. The psychological, emotional, and verbal abuse, was later identified as Parent Alienation tactics of a narcissistic parent. I was an emotional traumatized wreck the entire time, and leaned on her and her amazing staff for emotional support far more than I probably should have. The staff at Helland Law Group went way out of their way to comfort me, validate me, and listen to me when I felt afraid and bullied by my ex. Her office staff is so kind and genuinely cares about the outcome for their client. Aubrey is literally an angel for how she handled all my crying phone calls, feeling afraid and attacked by my ex. Patti gave me her personal cell in case of emergencies with my ex on the weekend if I needed her. Patti has a strong presence in the court room, and will fight tooth and nail if any decision is unjust. Patti fights for what is right, and will tell you if you are within the boundaries of the law. She plays fair, she will not play dirty (as some attorneys I have heard of). She places high value on ethics as an attorney, her profession, and doing what is right. Patti is incredibly compassionate, kind, honest, ethical, and highly competent in the law. I am so grateful for all that she did for my son and I. I feel I was a very draining client for her, as my PTSD from the allegations and psychological abuse (and past abuse) was triggered on broken record during the entire legal process. If you are being bullied and controlled by fear of retaliation from your ex husband, and fear your voice won’t matter or be heard (because your ex tells you it won’t) Patti (and Aubrey lol) will hear you, be kind to you, and believe in you. I also encourage all those who can relate to this review to seek out a DV counselor ( as that made a world of difference in my confidence that I was doing the right thing). The gas lighting ends, when you surround yourself with the right support to validate your experiences/feelings, and when you realize your narcissistic ex is being exposed at his own doing. These men will never change, do not try to empathize with them, change them or be hopeful they can change. Instead, HIRE PATTI and get a good DV counselor and go often! If you feel you are being gas lighted and psychologically controlled by fear (from of all his threats) Patti is not under that same fear. I still email her for things here and there, and she will ensure me that I am correct within the law, and doing the right thing. He will try to gas light me and make me feel like I am doing something wrong, and if I don’t do what he wants, but Patti assures me it’s gas lighting and that I am in fact, within the law. She always says, “let him try” with confidence. You can’t gas light an attorney, but he tries to argue that my attorney is wrong. Arguing with an attorney about the facts of the law within our parenting plan. Patti will work hard and dedicate herself to providing you with the justice you deserve. She will strive to make sure you and your children are safe, and on the road to the healing and quality life you deserve. Patti doesn’t sugar coat possible outcomes to set you up for disappointment. She gives legal advice that may not always be what you want to hear, but you will always know that she is guiding you with a high moral compass and within the boundaries of the law; and that is comforting to have an attorney you can trust.

What can I say...Patricia Steele has been my attorney since 2016 (she is currently representing me for Child Custody Modification). Each and every time I have inquired of her services whether it be divorce, child custody, or just legal advice, Patricia delivers every single time! She is a bulldog in court! She will continue to fight for you until you are satisfied. Most attorneys will feed you things that you don’t need just to line their pockets but not Patricia! She will tell you things just like it is, no sugar coating. She tells you EXACTLY what you need to hear. To her, you are not a dollar sign, you are a person, you’re family. Seems like she doesn't know how to dig and do her research to build a case against the other party. Paid so much $$$ and she did nothing. Doesn't answer emails, she goes on vacation and all MIA. Wasted time and money. Hire someone else.

I would say that she is the worst out there. She is new to the game and not worth her weight in gold. I would stay away from her as much as possible. It seems like she has lots of great reviews. But she is underhanded and rude and this information needs to be addressed. My ex was the worst and she let her completely bad mouth me and worked against me during the custody and divorce. She didn't have my back at all.

Custody battle from hell.... I got a phone call no mother ever wants to get and from the moment I hired Patti on the fly, she has been there every step. She’s thorough and confident in court making sure that your voice is heard when you feel like you have no voice at all. I will not hesitate to continue using Patti!

I was completely lost when my soon to be ex and I split up. Patti reassured me that she could handle my case. It was in fact much more complicated than we expected. My soon to be ex husband hacked into my emails and personal checking account and was stalking me at work and areas around my home. I wanted to have my son as much as I could and Patti fought the hard fight. She was always fighting for me and constantly keeping me informed through emails or phone calls. What's even better is she will be straight and honest with you through the whole procedure. I got custody of my son and got my divorce finalized. It was an ugly expensive battle but I wouldn't hire anyone else to do it.

I was thrown into a whirlwind of a child custody battle following a bad situation. I had a lawyer who was so bad he was actually happy when we left the court room stating "we faired better than I thought we would" when I only got 2 days a week visitation with my kids when I did nothing wrong! My mom found patti and thank god she did we went in and she seemed so passionate and just as angry as I about the outcome of my previous hearing. She worked so hard and helped guide me on what to do to win this. And today she won for me. I could not have been happier with her service. I wish I had her from the start so I wouldn't have gone through any of what I did but I'm so thankful she was by my side. She was a beast in that courtroom and the opposing counsel had no chance! I definitely recommend her!

I was referred to Patti from my co-worker and am thankful that I was!! Patti took no time at all to get me the actions needed to file for the divorce. Patti was truthful, honest and most of to the point!! This was a very important trait that I needed not only in court but to provide me with the direct guidance and assistance that I needed.
