06 October, 2022 If I could give more than 5 Stars, I would. I live in California and had a Cowlitz County Superior Court case in Vancouver, Washington. My case, in short, was the accusation by my sons mother that I violated a contact restraining order against my minor son. She supposedly had evidence and a police report. Jail or prison time were on the table as proposed by the prosecutor in the case. It seemed so incredible to me that an accusation could hold this much weight, and at the time, I was seeking to regain child custody and visitation of my son in California. This was an effort to stop me from attaining that goal in the most destructive way. Personally, this is something that I believe most fathers go through after divorce (or annulment) as a way of one parent controlling another, or potentially trying to injure the other for financial gain, by using a fathers most cherished concern; his children. It’s just a scary reality of life today for any father. Mr. Carley understood this well. With sincere understanding of the law, genuine concern for his client & family, and good guidance from experience, I was able get proper legal representation with Carley Legal Services, even out of state and with short notice. His views and advice were modest & realistic, and I never felt confused or lacked confidence through the case as it progressed. He was able to see the case for what it was, to explain it and to see where the system didn’t do it’s job (which is key in a good defense, as I’ve come to learn). He was prepared for this better than I could of been. Like any parent, I was always anxious at each court appearance, and Mr. Carley was always very confident. He was the solid foundation I needed to get through this legal process. Mr. Carley also respected my time and was available to me whenever I had questions or concerns. His rate was very reasonable and my family was able to retain his services, even when I didn’t think I would be able to afford representation. I have a previous felony criminal conviction, and Mr. Carley successfully put my past in proper context with the current case, something that I didn’t think I would be able to overcome. It was more than I could of possibly done on my own, or maybe with anyone else. Mr. Carley was able to get the best outcome for this situation; Case Dismissal. I was beyond relieved. Tom Carley is excellent! Tom handled a tricky situation for a family member and got an old criminal record expunged and removed for good. Tom was great with communication, very prompt and professional. I highly recommend!
