Finding the right attorney is important. We do not live in Washington, but our case was held there. We hired Kalka during an unexpected and very difficult time. Our custody case was associated with a high profile criminal case and Kalka worked hard to ensure our child was safe in our care and not associated with the media attention. She gave us reasonable payment options. She filed every motion we requested and fought hard to win us full custody. Kalka even took the time to attend other (unrelated/criminal court) hearings to be fully informed and support us. She kept us updated through the process by phone and email and provided us with necessary documentation/copies as requested. We are so pleased with the results! Kalka is compassionate and listens well to understand our needs, she went above and beyond to fulfill our requests and make our voice heard in court. When the time comes, we will utilize her services again in the future. I recommend her to anyone seeking family court services in the Vancouver area. She is a professional and understands the system well.

Kalka has represented me twice in custody cases for my daughter and won them both. She is professional, thorough, dedicated and to put it simply, very good at what she does. Without getting to detailed, as the majority custody parent for years I was blindsided with restraining order stating abuse. Ms. Thangkhiew is an excellent lawyer, diligent, efficient, and she goes out of her way to educate her clients and carefully walk them through the process. Always response and returns phone calls and emails in a timely manner and she has tremendous knowledge and experience. She was extremely fair and knows exactly how to be strategic and succinct when writing the declaration. Going to court was a necessary but difficult thing for me to do and she made me feel confident and supported and she was brutally honest when I needed it the most.

We needed to hire an attorney to help us with a child custody case. The father of my grandson took the child from a Midwest state and refused to return him, even though he was court ordered to do so in our state. Due to jurisdiction issues we had to hire an attorney to help us work through the courts in Vancouver. Ms. Thangkhiew was extremely thorough and determined to help us with getting my grandchild back. She dropped everything to spend the time to help us work through the Vancouver court system. Within 3 days, the sheriff retrieved our little one, we had our hearing with the judge and were flying back home. One thing that I noticed was that Kalka has an extremely good rapport with everyone at the courthouse. From the security guard and to everyone we were required to deal with in the courthouse. I truly believe this was a positive factor in the smoothness of the process. She was very accessible and explained every step of the process along the way. We will forever be grateful for her expertise and the kindnesses she showed us along the way!

Kalka helped me get through the most painful year of my life getting a divorce. She was very direct and gave me choices throughout the whole process. She advised but didn't push me toward her choice. She was very sensitive to what I was going through and even talked with my family and counselor about the best way to help me through some very rough times. This attorney is not experienced. She heard my side of the story but was in some way connected with the my spouse's attorney which leads me to believe she had a conflict of interest and that makes this attorney a poor choice for divorce procedures. Beware. She has no knowledge of the law and is basically a paper pusher
