Calbom & Schwab did an incredible job helping me navigate my disability claim. After multiple denials, Jeffrey Schwab and his team took my case and walked me through every step to get an approval. This was such a huge relief after being judged and discriminated against. They were always in communication and answered my questions quickly. Jeffrey was understanding and compassionate about my situation and provided great support. He and his staff were always friendly and patient with me. I would recommend his services to anyone having a difficult time with the disability process. Thank you so much!

After almost eight years and many failed attempts to get my son the benefits he deserved, I wanted to find someone who would not only fight for my son’s rights, but who would treat him with compassion, patience, and understanding. Jeffrey Schwab turned out to be that person, and what a gift to have him in our corner! About five minutes into our first meeting I knew we had made a perfect choice for legal representation. Jeffrey spoke to my son in terms he could understand, patiently answering his questions, and then asked many of his own in order to get to know my son’s daily struggles. It is evident that Jeffrey Schwab actually cares about his clientele and has more than a vested interest in their wellbeing and treatment. My son and I had felt so powerless against the agencies that were supposed to be helping us but doing their utmost not to. We were discouraged and frustrated. Jeffrey was a breath of fresh air in a world that seemed to simply not care one ounce for my son or his difficulties. Every step of the way was explained to us in terms both of us could understand. After every meeting or phone call Jeffrey asked if my son had any questions, and then patiently answered those questions. Jeffrey Schwab made us feel like he had all the time in the world for us and never once made my son feel stupid or unwelcome. The night before our early morning hearing, Jeffrey called to explain what was going to happen in detail, and there were no surprises. Jeffrey Schwab and his assistant Jennifer are organized, knowledgeable, and experts in their field. They are obviously driven by their compassion for the marginalized and underserved, and we are lucky to have them.

As happens sometimes I got myself into a situation in which I needed legal assistance. At first I was confused and scared as I had no idea where all of this would lead. I was very lucky that I found Brandon and that he was willing to take my case. Upon first meeting with Brandon I was immediately put at ease by his knowledge and overall attitude that he was more like a friend who will help you then a stuffy lawyer that is more annoyed to be bothered by your situation. I immediately hired Brandon after meeting him in person and I can say it was possibly the smartest decision I have ever made. Brandon was always willing to explain anything to me that I didn’t understand and was more than happy to answer any question I had. Not one time did Brandon ever make me feel like anything other than a friend that he literally cared about. When the time came for resolving my issue Brandon went to work with the prosecution like a finely skilled surgeon and when the smoke cleared, He was able to get me a deal that was far greater than any outcome I would have dreamed of. This man cares and works his butt off to get you the absolute best outcome possible. I am forever grateful to this man for his professionalism and gentle approach with me as a confused and scared person who hadn’t to this point had any interactions with the legal process. I hope Brandon reads this and realizes that the place he occupies in this world as a defender of people is so greatly appreciated and admired by me personally. And if you are reading this and are scared, confused and feeling alone, look no further because Brandon is absolutely the lawyer you need to get you to the other side of your situation and to get your life back on track.

Brandon represented me in a case that I was falsely being accuse of. He spent countless hours gathering information and preparing for the court. He communicated with me and kept me up to date. Brandon treated me like family. He cared and knew the allegation were BS, after police report came out, it was obvious. Brandon was never money hungry, he wanted me to get the best outcome. I heard from multiple people that work in that field, that Brandon is not only the best but a respected lawyer. Thank you!

Brandon Redal was the most efficient and determined attorney i have ever seen. He gathered all information physically possible to keep my innocence through the entire court case. Redal pushed for things to get done and made sure they were done correctly. Not to mention he doesn’t treat me like just a client, He treats me like family. 11/10 Would recommend.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Wenatchee, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
