• “The good lawyer is not the man who has an eye to every side and angle of contingency, and qualifies all his qualifications, but who throws himself on your part so heartily, that he can get you out of a scrape.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson I found myself in a pretty big scrape years back and hired Nick to navigate the minefield that i found myself in. He immediately went to work building my defense, mitigating the circumstances and minimized my time of incarceration far beyond anything I could have hoped for. A few years later, after my criminal obligations were fulfilled and I was able to have my rights restored, both voting and firearms, I knew who i was going to need. Nick once again took up my cause, and again, completely exceeded my expectations. Not only did he get ALL my rights restored, but he took it many steps further and rescinded all my guilty pleas, (12 felonies, all non-violent) convinced the judge to sign off, vacating my entire criminal history, and all within a 2 week period. The appreciation I have for him is second to none!

I was in a state of disbelief and was totally unprepared when I first learned I was facing criminal charges. From the moment I reached out to Nick Yedinak, I felt that things were getting under control. Nick listened intently to all I had to say and provided a clear understanding of what I was dealing with and of what he could do in representing me. Nick and his expert team worked hard and left no stone unturned to discover the truth in my defense. As a result, my charges were dismissed, and my life went back to normal. I owe that to the excellent services of Nick Yedinak.

I OWE MY FREEDOM TO MR. YEDINAK Mr. Yedinak took my case immediately. He believed in my innocence from day one. Nick was an absolute godsend to me in a nightmare situation. Mr. Yedinak along with his highly efficient and professional staff, all hit the ground running, taking steps to immediately intervene and take control of the situation on my behalf. He worked with the investigators, DNA experts, and the State Crime Lab. Not only was I kept informed, but Nick spoke with me in plain, straight forward language that I could understand. He also encouraged me to take an active role in my defense. He answered all my questions; big or small. This was a long drawn out case for me in custody. Yet Mr. Yedinak was not waiting. We made it to trial in just over 6 months. He saved my family from having to endure a 20-to-life sentence. Pit Bull on a Pork Chop Nick and his team worked seven days a week, many times all hours, to be prepared for trial. Nick knows what he is doing and really fought. Nick was prepared for trial, battled the prosecutor, aggressively questioned the witnesses, and won my case. He kept me out of Prison. He expertly handled all aspects of my case professionally and with a great deal of wisdom, understanding and a large dose compassion for all parties involved. You just discovered an attorney that is highly organized, meticulous in his research and most importantly, well versed in criminal law with an impressive winning record. His name is Nicholas A. Yedinak and he is ready to do battle for you. Words cannot express how blessed I was to have Nick and his wonderful team on my side. And I almost forgot awesome investigators. As far as attorneys go, he is BEYOND GREAT!

Craig Larsen answered and took my phone call personally. From the beginning he was positive yet realistic and willing to help solve my infraction issues, where previous attorneys I spoke to were very pessimistic about the outcome. At the end my infraction was dropped thanks to Craig.

Although its hit or miss with every traffic ticket, Craig did his job very well, kept me informed and offered good advice on next steps. Very glad I used his services and got the dismissal on my speeding ticket.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Wenatchee, Washington?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
