Jacob is awesome, two years ago I needed an attorney, I didn’t have to wait long for an appointment, or make a deposit. I felt comfortable talking to him, and he always call the day before court to remind me. At the time I didn’t understand much about the legal system, Jacob explained everything, he represented me really well, now I have a clean record and I can feel confident to apply for jobs in my field.

I retained Jacob Mills as attorney. He told me $4500, no matter if they dismissed, or we went to court, and how it was a "great deal because most lawyers charge by the hour." Well, after the state continued my case seven times, and finally offered me a plea. I refused the plea. Mr. Mills then tells me I need to pay him $10,000 more for him to represent me. He gave me four weeks to come up with the money. My husband was going to put our house up to pay for it. In the meantime, he filed three motions for my case. Fast forward to my husband deciding to not go forward with getting the loan on the house for a misdemeanor charge. He speaks to Mr. Mills where he is told that we can't put "X" amount of money down and make payments. Fast forward to my pre trial, he doesn't even show up. I'm sitting in the hallway at the courthouse. No one is calling my name. Finally a baliff asks me if I've been helped, and I say I have court today, and he say there are no proceedings today. I show him my paperwork. He tells me he will be right back. One of the court clerks comes out and says didn't anyone from Mr. Mills office call you? I'm like, "No" she said go home and call him. I go home and call, and leave a message. They call back at 4:19 p.m. a full six hours after my court appearance. They continued my court appearance and he removed himself as my lawyer. Mr. Mills calls me and tells me I could have made payment plans and all I had to do was talk to him, when he in fact knew he said the opposite to my husband. After getting a lawyer for something else, and speaking to him about all this, I was encouraged to file an ethics complaint, because according to this lawyer, I paid him a retainer, and all he did was show up for continuances. He should have argued the motions he set forth for me, and then removed himself as my lawyer afterwards. So, I called the ethics committee and am currently waiting for the packet to come in the mail. If you read this, please just know, you will be told one price, and when it comes down to it, you will be told another. Buyer beware! I spent 38 days with one of his paralegals...she said that is their thing. They sucker you in with a low price, and then they up it for trial. How do you know a lawyer is lying?? His lips are moving!!!
