My wife and I were forced to file bankruptcy due to mounting medical debt. I consulted with 4 different law firms in the Eau Claire area to find a lawyer I felt comfortable with and seemed to have my families best interests at heart. My case was not an easy one. Our income was above the median, so that meant we would have to go through the means test to file chapter 7 or we would have the go through chapter 13. AJ Swenson was hands down the the only lawyer I felt comfortable with. The other law firms I consulted with made me feel like I was "just another case for them". Most of them tried to push me towards chapter 13. One law firm outright told me chapter 7 wasn't possible for my income. Swenson assured me not only chapter 7 was possible, but it was the best route to get my family's finances the clean slate it needed. I was a bit of a nervous wreck going into the bankruptcy, as I'm sure most are. It's a major event for anyone to go through. AJ was always prompt with answering my many (and sometimes repetitive :) ) questions throughout the whole process. She was knowledgable and there for us every step of the way.
