If you need help in the WC realm don't hesitate to call them. They did get results. Took a little longer than expected to complete. They need to push a little harder on settlement amounts. Good experience overall.

Called seeking a consultation on a public accommodation law matter and although this firm does not practice in public accommodation law I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff member. She went out of her way to look for recommendations to help me with my situation. Everyone in Madison RAVES about this place. Even most of the reviews here are excellent. So, I am disappointed that I must have drawn the short straw with the attorney who represented me. Not insignificantly, his name is also attached to one of the other one-star reviews on here, and none of the 5-star reviews. The firm took my $300 to consult, told me that I "may" have a case against my former employer, and then took a $1,200 retainer to help draft a separation agreement. I explicitly told them that once the retainer was expended, I wanted notification so that I could do a cost-benefit analysis of continuing. The $1,200 was exhausted rather quickly, consumed by phone calls and e-mails between my attorney and opposing counsel. I expected that, of course, because, well, lawyers. E-mails, phone calls, ridiculous claims from opposing counsel not based in fact, etc. At one point, I asked my attorney what my account balance was, and he said "I don't have access to that, contact billing." The person who answered my followup call said that the billing person wasn't there, but told me that yes, he "thought" that I would get another bill when the $1,200 ran out, before incurring further charges. That never came. A couple of weeks later, I again ask my attorney what my account balance was, but now he mysteriously CAN look it up, and immediately gives me a balance due of over $600. Funny, now that I owe you more money, you can instantly look up my balance? But 2 weeks ago, you had no idea how to see what I had left? Oh, the wonders of technology. So, I spent $1,500, owed another $600, and talking to them about closing the file racked up another $300 in charges. I'm $2,400 in, and got less than absolutely nothing. My attorney told opposing counsel when my last day of work was, after telling me for 2 weeks not to tell anyone (lest we lose our leverage in negotiations!), and then blamed me for doing so. His e-mail to opposing counsel explicitly stated when my last day of work was, but then he turned around and blamed me for the news getting out. I could have kicked myself in the nuts, saved $2,400, and ended with the same result I got by hiring this firm.
