Cecilia Ju was extremely wonderful to work with. She handled my divorce case very well and kept me constantly informed at all times. Cecilia made sure I understood everything about my case and that I was fully prepared for when things had to be finally settled. She helped me point out what my options were during the divorce and what the best route was for me to take. I would highly recommend Cecilia Ju. This firm represented my wife and facilitated an extremely contentious divorce riddled with accusations which were all unfounded after an expensive and intrusive family court study. The divorce drug on for nearly 1.5 years. When I expressed legitimate concerns about the dangerousness of my wife's new boyfriend (regarding my wife, my child, and myself), the firm's response was nothing but dismissive and disagreeable to safe child exchanges which would've excluded the dangerous boyfriend from being present. That man went on to murder my wife in May of 2021, before our divorce was finalized, and left me to raise our young daughter without her mother. This firm charged my wife many thousands of dollars and even made a claim against her estate for an additional $4,443.50 after her death. I would advise you to seek a firm with integrity which will provide realistic expectations and seek resolution, rather than one that profits from your anger by facilitating a drawn out, dangerous, and expensive process.

We worked with Attorney Ju on guardianship of our two grandchildren. She was very knowledgeable, quick to response to our questions, very prepared for the court commissioner and judge appearances. When the legal proceedings didn't go ideally, she had a quick request that resulted in a second proceeding within 3 weeks. Thanks to her work and skills, we were successful in gaining guardianship within 2-3 months. We couldn't have done this without her. We highly recommend Attorney Ju!

Horrible lawyer....Kowalski is rude, not professional, terrible representation, untimely, bad communication, and he tried to get me to settle for half of what I actually got in my divorce by going to a good lawyer....I fired him after our first court date where the commissioner actually had to ask him what he thought because Kowalski just sat there. not speaking ..however, Kowalski was very happy to take $11K for doing nothing. He said I would not likely get more than 50% placement of my child, however, I did not listen to him and I ended up getting 70% placement. I would have given him 0 stars if I could.

Couldn't give any answers as to what typically happens in the state of Wisconsin for a case and told me to move forward it would be 3500. Was more interested in the money than letting a client know how he could help them or if he even could.

I strongly recommend attorney David Kowalski; he did a fantastic job defending me in my divorce and in my opinion, he is the best family lawyer in Madison. At the start of my divorce proceedings, I had a different lawyer who was not strongly defending my case, so I interviewed different firms to represent me. I found a job in an adjacent state that constituted a significant pay increase, and I wanted to move with my child to that state. When I explained my situation, every single attorney I interviewed said that what I wanted was impossible; only attorney Kowalski said "it will be difficult, but I have done it in the past". During the course of my divorce, he was a strong advocate for my best interests sometimes explaining when something I wanted was not the best course of action. He discussed strategy with me, prepared me for hearings, and interactions with the court. In addition, he is very judicious about his services and does not over bill. When the county social worker’s report was not in my favor, I thought that everything was lost. Nevertheless, he came up with a different strategy which he articulated during the hearing and his strategy worked. We were able to find an agreement that was acceptable to both my ex-partner and myself. To me, the work he did was nothing short of a miracle and thanks to his fantastic job, I am now able to continue pursuing my dream to provide the best opportunities I can for my child. Hire him if you are looking to get the best representation possible; he will not disappoint. Thank you very much attorney Kowalski!
