Unfortunately, I have had a number of negative experiences as it relates to, Attorney Chernin. A few years ago, I had an issue related to property taxes concerning a commercial property I owned where I was told by Attorney Chernin he is close friends with Alderman Ashanti Hamilton who sits on the panel related to property taxes and has the ability to grant me an extension as there was an amount of 21,741.53, owed. I trusted Attorney Chernin when he told me he has the ability to grant me an extension between sixty and ninety days to pay as I was given thirty at the time. I was contacted by Attorney Chernin on the twenty fourth day with only six days remaining that he was unable to assist me as promised. It is our understanding Attorney Chernin did not address the matter timely as promised until a few days before the property taxes were to be paid and ended up putting me in quite a bind. I did pay the property taxes but was quite upset with Attorney Chernin for some time as he had given me his word on a number of occasions it would not be a problem for him to have an extension granted.

If you are looking for the best workers compensation attorney/lawfirm, you can stop looking now because you have found them! Hickey & Turim have excellent attorneys. If I could give 10 gold stars I would. Patrick Kern was our attorney and he is very personable, knowledgeable, trustworthy, go-getter, compassionate and he knows what he is doing and he knows the law. My husband was injured at work and it required multiple surgeries over a couple years time. It was devastating and very stressful. Absolutely useless, I was hurt at work all the doctors agree I was hurt at work but because my injury is not going to cause permanent damage they no longer will help me with my case. I would never recommend anyone to use their service they were distant and didn't really keep in touch with me and it always took 24-48 hours to receive any sort of reply and every time we spoke on the phone it seemed as though the lawyer handling my case could not wait to hang up with me. Don't get me wrong everyone was friendly, but no one wanted to assist me anymore once they found out that I was not going to be permanently disabled. Pretty pathetic for a Law Firm that relies on Workers Compensation cases if you ask me.

So far, so good! I am presently working with this firm & pray that the results are successful! The professionalism & great communication up to date give me much faith in my Attorney!
