I saw a communication first hand from my colleague with how unprofessional and rude he acted. My colleague and I had similar situations with similar outcomes and my interaction with him was different. However I could tell that when things were not going a particular way, Mike seemed to become rude and lose interest. He treated my colleague poorly, so much so I wanted to give my review time to be rational and honest and sadly my thoughts have not changed . Always check reviews and get a feel for your lawyer before you hire one. Something I should have done in this case. I originally was going to give a 2 star rating but with how he treated my colleague I am giving a 1 star rating.

Mike is very unprofessional and starts playing victim once he loses the case. We had a contingency agreement and when things didn’t go our way he started by being very rude saying we need to start paying him when we followed up with a few questions. Obviously he doesn’t read the documents that he makes his client signs which clearly says that we don’t owe him a single cent unless we win the case. Wouldn’t hire him ever or recommend him to anyone

He only apparently texts. I left a voicemail to see if I could get a quick consultation regarding an unemployment issue (*I would have been willing/able to pay a small fee, though none was mentioned online or otherwise). Instead of a callback, I received a text with requests for paperwork from the DWD (unemployment issues I was experiencing that I didn’t really have a chance to describe over voicemail). I texted him back, indicating the DWD did not provide me any paperwork besides a templated letter (this was part of my problem - the lack of anything in writing). I said he would understand my situation better if I could explain it to him rather than just email over a templated letter without going into my situation. I wanted a consultation over the phone, which is the fastest way to explain my story. I told him I wasn't sure if I wanted representation right away, as he had not even heard what my case was about, apart from a quick voicemail I sent him stating it was regarding the DWD not paying my claim for almost a year. He responded, of course, only via text, that he is therefore not going to represent me, citing my hesitation to provide documents or (I’m assuming) writing my entire case over text or email (he never suggested talking on the phone was feasible). Look, that’s fine, but I didn’t even ask for representation, I asked for a *consultation* first (I told him this). The purpose of a consult, I thought, is to see if my type of case would have any merit. I’m not a lawyer, but the fact I’m not allowed to even speak to one albeit quickly, about my concern, over voice, is highly absurd. This could have taken a few minutes only. You see, I do not like corresponding in mysterious ways with attorneys and handing over private information through text message. This isn't or shouldn't be a cloak and dagger ordeal.

Reached out to him for his services. Once on the phone he used three words that I did not like. “No You Don’t” in reply to something I said that was rhetorical. He asked me a few questions about my situation but I could hardly hear because it seemed he had just awoke up from his sleep (unprofessional). I attempted to explain the details in turn I received the impression that he did not want to represent me. He would interject while I was speaking, the dialogue was simply shrewd and unprofessional. He continued to talk about his retainer and etc. without receiving the complex details of my situation. I recommend everyone else to go in another direction and hire an attorney with more professionalism and empathy.
