Attorney Oswald was knowledgeable, calming, and very successful at navigating a DUI ticket our son received. He always responded quickly to all of our calls. Had a felony eluding, and was able to get it reduced to a misdemeanor, With no jail time; or anything! This was on top of a DUI and that went smooth to. If you want the best attorney in the state go to him, you won’t have regrets I promise.

In the summer of 2020, I was on a road trip alone, coming from chicago, and passing through Wisconsin. I was on the highway shoulder crying about something personal and an officer came to check on me. I was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. I contacted Jeff after I mistakenly missed my first court appearance, as I had two separate charges. They made a process that I easily convoluted with anxieties, doubt, and confusion streamlined, and brought a sense of calm with very clear communication and honest answers. They can't wish your case away, however Jeff made an effort to make every step of the process better and easier including how I was to appear during a state of quarantine, answering questions via email and phone when I had my own doubts or fears(not a therapist lol, but very clear when they have a moment), and making sure I got the best outcome to their ability. Akin to playing his heart out. It felt like more than a win to have a misdemeanor excused. It felt like awe to have just fines after I faced jail time. Jeff is amazing, and the office is just as beautiful. The team made me feel human every time I called in. Extremely validating, and a lovely experience considering we all weren't going to a water park. Yes to the office of Hammett, Bellin, and Oswald. Glad ya'll exist. Thank you Jeff!

I'll just start by saying if you're in a bind and actively researching Fox Valley-area attorneys- as I was- then you have finally found the right guy. Title kind of says it all. I was charged with something which left me personally devastated, and also had the very real potential to damage the career I have worked so hard to build. I am sure glad I did my research. Looked at everyone in the area, but no one had the same ratings as Jeff. No one had detailed reviews like Jeff either. So many success stories from happy clients. I spoke w/ Jeff on the phone for the first time and he gave me some background on the charge, what to expect, the process, and the timeline. At that time, from his frank & appreciated perspective, there wasn't much room to improve my situation. He did however agree to take a swing at it. That was my mission from the outset: not going to take this sitting down. I paid him a reasonable fee and off we went. My intake and subsequent pretrial conference dates were way, way out, so I had a lot of time to sit around and worry about all the bad things that could happen. Being such a legal novice (this is my first real go around as an adult), I called him a few different times to either get a status or ask him any of the crazy questions I'd conjured up over the past weeks. Each time, either he or Amy would get back to me asap and help clear things up. I sincerely appreciated it... that feeling of impending legal doom can be quite a weight on a set of inexperienced shoulders. I don't want to get into the details of the actual negotiation- all I will say is that Jeff did a tremendous job using the information provided to him to argue for a reduced charge. And the City Attorney clearly agreed. I went from something that would follow me around for 10 years, prevent me from renting cars, bar me entry to Canada, etc. to a reduced charge equivalent to a petty traffic violation. Night and day. This is the person that will maximize your outcome. Stop looking.

I was looking for a criminal lawyer and was in search for someone who would fit the qualities I was looking for. This is an extremely serious matter that I’m involved in and wanted to make sure of these things; Their personality is compatible to mine, their background is impressive, they have years of experience, they understand and are sensitive to my needs, and most importantly that I would not hire them and they wouldn’t end up having a paralegal handle my case (I know many layers rope you in and then later once you’ve paid the retainer fee they stick you with someone else). It was VERY important that I spend my time with the attorney and not someone else. Amy wanted to charge me a very large amount of money compared to other highly rated Attorneys but I was willing to overlook the cost because I felt Amy would be best suited for me case. After I spoke to her for my consultation she assured me I would be in good hands and that she had the time to take on my case and didn’t have too much of a heavy workload (that was also very important to me). I called other attorneys to compare and to see who would be a better fit and after taking time to meet with everyone I felt Amy was the best. I tried to call her back to retain her and ask her a couple additional questions and after 2 weeks of trying to get a hold of her, she kept transferring me to her paralegal which is what I wanted to avoid in the first place. It was like she was too good or too busy to take my call. So just as I was getting ready to hire another attorney I decided to try getting a hold of her once more and sure enough she picked up but was extremely rude and said I would be better off hiring someone else. She said it was because I refused to talk to her staff which is untrue. I just had very specific questions for her...you know the attorney I was going to hire lol anyway she was by far unprofessional and rude and just too good to help me. I wouldn’t recommend her at all and she is way too busy to even give your case the time if day.

I was able to work with Attorney Oswald and his assistant Amy Alexander and they were both amazing in their diligence to help me with my case and ensure I had all the answers I needed to settle my legal case. This was my first offense of any kind so I was completely unfamiliar with any of the legal or court processes and how they should be navigated. I consulted with an attorney to explain how best to proceed, what I should expect, and what the possible outcomes may be. After hiring Jeff Oswald to represent me in this case, he handled all the interactions with the court and kept me informed of the progress. He and his office were very available and responsive to any questions that I had. They supplied me with all the information I needed to feel comfortable that I fully understood the process and the expectations of me.
