This lawyer only follows her own beliefs, and wants money. Rather than what is really best for the child, she instantly assums 50/50 is best for a child without considering the history over the last three years as my child continues to be taken care of by someone else rather than my sons other parent. Now my child is sick constantly from smoke and who knows what else. Now as a low income parent, I have to fight to save money just to make it right and what makes more realistic scenario for my child and his health.

Ms. Weber was my attorney during my divorce. I found her to be extremely professional and knowledgeable. Many times the clients expectations for an unlikely outcome are nurtured through their lawyer. One of the things I liked about Julie Weber was her honesty. She never led me to believe that things were going to end up a certain way just because I wanted them to. I would recommend her.

I had Julie Weber in a child custody hearing. I am writing this to let others know so they don't have to go through what i did. She never cared about the well being of the child . She lacks in experience and puts her personal views in front of the well being of the child.

I see him handling my best friends case and he is amazing. He is One of the best lawyers I’ve ever seen I wish I could get a hold of him so that I could please write a recommendation for this person for the court. I’ve never seen anyone work magic like this lawyer has before and I’m so grateful that he is helping my best friend out while he is in another state away from NY. Thank you so much.

Jeremiah was an amazing lawyer. I came to him with a very complex case and he was able to look at the case from many different angles. He found ways we could challenge different aspects in order to lessen the charges. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He truly cares about his clients and he pulls long hours and fights hard for every single one of his clients. He is also well respected by the courts and has a great reputation.

I was Jeremiah's 3rd Client ever, For a misdemeanor level case in Polk County, WI. After taking in all the angles, Jeremiah challenged the entire charge. He fought as hard as he could for me. On October 31st, 2012 I informed him of a Child custody hearing that was going to be held the very next morning. He volunteered his time to my family and again relentlessly learned the family law in MN while working overtime to ensure that we put up our very best fight. I asked why, he simply told me because of the bible. I would recommend him to represent anyone. In fact he is about to be asked about three pending felony charges that we need the best of the best to ensure we recieve a fair and civil trial.

Allyson was very informative about everything she did for me. I knew what to expect most every step of the way. I was very hesitant to use her because of her age and her being a newer lawyer, but to my pleasant surprise she was great. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a lawyer that is reasonably priced. I also had her to complete my parents Will shortly after using her for by business and it was under 300 dollars. When me and my husband did ours previously with another attorney we paid $1,800. It's nice to know there are good quality lawyers for a reasonable price.

I had Brian Laule as my personal injury lawyer and he was great. He always made sure that I understood what im signing and always made it known that he was there for me every step of the way. I would recommend Brian or anyone from Bye, Goff & Rohde who are looking for professional people who will get the job done right.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of River Falls, Wisconsin?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
