Pros
1
Knowledgeable and experienced in handling OWI/DUI cases, with a proven track record of getting charges reduced or dismissed
“Todd knows a lot about DUI and criminal laws. I had a DUI felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor. I was very satisfied with the results and all he did for me.”
2
Effective negotiation skills, able to work with prosecutors to get favorable plea deals or dismissals
“In court Todd was well prepared and explained to the judge that the arresting officers had no proof that I was drinking and driving and therefore no reason to arrest me. Although the Prosecutor and the Officer argued aggressively that they had proof, Todd stood his ground and continued to bring up more evidence to the contrary.”
3
Provides personalized attention and support, guiding clients through the legal process
“The first thing he did was lay out a personal plan for me. This plan involved my enrolling in Alcoholics Anonymous and a Rehab program, both of which I did and both have paid big dividends for me personally. It was great advice!”
4
Dedicated and persistent in pursuing the best possible outcome for clients
“My initial case took over 3 years to get resolved and Todd never gave up. He went above and beyond for me.”
5
Honest and transparent about the client's chances and expectations
“He never gave me unrealistic promises and always kept me informed.”

Hiring Todd was the best decision I could've made for my case. In court, he was calm and convincing as he presented the facts in a unwavering manner. I felt much more comfortable having him by my side, and he WON my case in the blink of an eye. I was shocked. I will forever recommend Todd to anyone looking for a lawyer. He was supportive and knowledgable about the laws surrounding my case. I couldn't have won it without him. Thank you Todd!

Todd did an excellent job handling my OWI/Refusal case. In an extremely stressful time for me, he made it as simple as could be. We discussed what kind of a plea I wanted if he didn't think we could win the case after reviewing the evidence. Then he went out and got me a better plea deal. Refusal dismissed and minimums on the OWI.

I was referred to Todd from a friend who told me this was the guy you wanted on your side when facing an OWI charge....they were right. Just when I thought this was a slam dunk for the prosecution, Todd was able to point out all of the things I did right the night of my arrest, find a loop hole, and get the most vital piece of evidence for the prosecution thrown out. He then negotiated my OWI charge down to a reckless without going to circuit court and ending everything in Municipal Court. I can't thank Todd enough for all of his time, work, and knowledge. He knows EVERYTHING there is to know about OWI's/DUI's and what loop holes to look for. IF you are in an OWI/DUI jam....go with attorney Todd Snow!

I just completed a very difficult and emotional divorce with Kris as my attorney. My case was very complex with several real estate and personal property issues to deal with as well. Kris and her staff were so unbelievably supportive and thorough. Kris took the time to listen to me when I was in the most difficult period of my life with no idea how to proceed. She was able ensure that the final judgement met my complete satisfaction. I would recommend Kris and her staff to anyone considering hiring an attorney for a divorce.

I was a client of Alana's in 2014. She is very disorganized and very cold. She put everything off throughout our case until last min then flat out lied in court to cover herself and her mistakes. It is possible to get ahold of her as the office has no answering machine and she does not use a computer. Her secretary is very rude. Alana was my attorney and she cost me custody of my children die to her lack of fact gathering. She charges for things she did not do as well. I would not recommend her for anything.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Waupun, Wisconsin?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
