Chris became counsel for the WLEA while we were mired in contract negotiations with the state. He came prepared and was familiar with our issues on day one. Chris was organized and methodical. I firmly believe that he reset the table and moved the talks in our direction. I have also seen Chris argue discipline cases. He brought the same skill to bear in that arena as he did for our contract negotiations. I have been in LE for over 20 years and he is one of the best litigators I have seen practice law. Chris has also represented our members in issues relating to duty disability claims and has even represented our members in civil injury cases. I make this sound like Chris is a one man show. He is not. His office is staffed with multiple attorneys that I have the same confidence in.

This was a union and employment matter in which I was illegally terminated by managers who had a score to settle against me ever since I beat them in a prior discrimination lawsuit. My case with Chris MacGillis went the full distance in front of a judge and we won. The agency that terminated me had to reinstate me and provide back pay. During the hearing, Chris MacGillis was articulate and very smart about how he handled the process as well as the questioning of witnesses on both sides. He wasn't at all afraid to call them out in front of the judge on things that were clearly senseless and only done with the intent of targeting me personally. In all honesty, he made them look like fish out of water during our hearing; they couldn't have looked worse in my opinion. I cannot express enough how extremely important it was for us to win this case as the outcome would determine my ability and the feasibility of also suing the employer in federal court for retaliation; an action that is now in process. I would highly recommend this office for your personal or employment matters.

Lauren is a great lawyer to have on your side. She worked on my injury case with another lawyer at her office. Lauren was always available when I had questions and would explain things very easily. Lauren would always call me back in record time or respond to my e-mails. Lauren is a very nice person and is willing to go the extra mile to help your case get solved the correct way. Chris represented me a personal injury auto claim from 2015 (while on duty as a LE officer). I was referred to Chris by a referral agency. My consult with Chris was not only informative, but free. There was no fee to hire Chris, he made it clear that if he did not settle/win the case, there was zero expense. I had reviewed Chris prior to meeting with him and a lawyer of his caliber and reputation made me feel at ease. This was also verified when I first met with him. Chris was very reasonable also, I lived about 1 hour from his office, so he met me at a close spot. The main things I appreciate from Chris is his compassion for his clients, his vast knowledge and skillset when it comes to personal injury claims, his desire to get you what he thinks you truly deserve and how much effort he puts into each case he has. Again, he doesn't look at you as another case. Make no mistake when you look for a skilled injury lawyer, you need to have one who is well educated, reviewed, respected and is not afraid to do what needs to be done. Injury claims take time and sometimes a lot of them, but every case is different. I like how Chris again was in no rush to get my case settled. I was involved in a vehicle accident that I wasn’t at fault. The other parties' insurance company tried to pin the fault on me knowing the other driver was at fault. To make matters worse, the Insurance company offered a ridiculously low offer and refused to give me a decent compensation. The vehicle accident had permanently scarred me for life. MacGillis Wiemer, LLC was highly recommended by a coworker, so I decided to hire him. I am glad I did. I was impressed by the amount of effort and work he put into my case. I have hired MacGillis law twice. First time was for a rather sticky divorce case. The firm was able to work out an amicable settlement regarding property and me hanging on to my pension. I was so pleased by their work for me the first time, that I contacted them again for an injury I received due to an unsafe condition. I made contact with the firm and was kept updated along the way, via phone and emails, and letters. I was quite pleased with the final settlement, and was always treated in a friendly professional manner.

WORST ATTORNEY EVER.

While working for a local law enforcement agency, i was conducting a traffic stop when I was struck by an intoxicated driver. Unfortunately, the driver who struck me had no insurance. While consulting with Attorney Christopher MacGillis, he was very informative and explained my options. Due to the other driver not having insurance, we had to file a civil case against my own insurance under the uninsured motorist policy. As the case proceeded, Attorney MacGillis kept me informed all the time. I believe it was his vast knowledge, hard work and dedication that he was able to successfully argue my case in front of the judge. It was his hard work that lead us to an excellent out of court settlement. If it wasn't for Attorney MacGillis knowledge of the laws, and taking the time to research prior case laws, i feel a less dedicated attorney would have had a less desirable outcome. Chris took on my case shortly after my car was totaled by a semi on the freeway. He was always prompt when answering my (many!) questions, and both he and the office staff were always courteous and helpful.
