My only regret is not hiring Attorney Moore sooner. She accomplished my divorce In 23 days after hiring her something my previous lawyer couldn’t do in a year! She talks to you like a friend, and treats you with respect. Dont second guess and just hire her!

I highly recommend Lisa Moore. She represented me very well and efficiently. Her very capable assistant, Shannon, was a pleasure to work with as well. Great firm overall to handle my divorce.

Lisa helped my family with a case that was far from the norm. She was professional, respectful and fierce throughout our long case. Lisa never let us lose our focus and believed in us 100% from the first time we met with her. One thing that stood out was she wanted to see a picture of the child she was fighting for when we first met her. We fought long and hard for two years and had several lawyers, but none like Lisa. My family is now whole and we will forever be grateful!

I had 2 cases that Bill handled for me. The first case I ended taken a plea bargain that Bill had negotiated for me. He felt if I had gone to trial I would a 75-80 percent chance of a not guilty verdict, but if I lost I was looking at 3-5 years in prison. My family decided the risk was to great and the punishment was to excessive to risk and Bill got me a 2 year probation instead. I am grateful for him everyday I wake up. In my second case, me my wife and my daughter were served a search warrant and as a result of this we were all given municipal tickets. the search was an illegal entry into our home and when Bill filed a motion to suppress the search, he was inundated by the DA's office calling him and telling him that if we did not pull the motion that they would dismiss all charges and reissue them as criminal charges. Bill and I had several talks on this matter and I told him I would not give up my constitutional rights given to me as a citizen of this country. Bill told me each time he was proud of me for standing up for my rights. Well sure enough the state did what they said they would do, dismissed the charges and reissued criminal charges. when I called Bill on this matter, he told me flat out, he did not feel comfortable about defending us, due to the fact he felt he could be a witness in a civil rights lawsuit against the state., and he recommended to me a lawyer who hit a grand slam homer in our suppression of the search. Now what lawyer do you know would walk away from being paid. Honesty, integrity. and trustworthy are not to be taken lightly, and I stand for Bill in all of these character traits he possesses and highly recommend him in any criminal case you might have.

I first Met Mr. Patrykus in his front lobby of his office years ago. We walked in together and I was unaware of who he was. Before I could ever be screened by an Assistant he asked how he could help. I could not believe a lawyer would talk to a potential client without being screened. He spent 30 minutes just answering questions and told me how to represent myself and that he would help me but I did not need to pay him for his services. He said I could represent myself in this case. I think I called him twice more for advice and he provided some insight for My wife and me. A few years later I remembered that when my son needed some help, Mr. Patrykus answered all our questions and set my son at ease. My son really had done nothing wrong but being younger was being pressured into admitting to something he had not done. Mr. Patrykus set my son at ease and was able to get to the facts of the case. He took a lot of the emotion out the situation and basically got both sides on the same page. The other side basically admitted they over reacted and apologized for the misunderstanding. Being accused of something , whether yourself or a Family Member can really get very emotional. The way Mr. Patrykus handled the situation made it into a learning experience for both Father and son. He never Judged my son, he simply Listened to my son. Over the years we have recommended Mr. Patrykus to people we know who needed help, he has helped them Both as a consultant and represented them in cases. all of the people we have recommended to Mr. Patrykus have been very happy with the services he has provided to them..

The journey for the dissolution of marriage from my wife was not an easy one and has been emotional and had several unanticipated turns throughout the case but Ryan and his office showed their care, concern and support throughout the whole process. They always make it seem like your case is their only one and reply with prompt responses that are informative, helpful, and shows Ryan’s experience in family court. Their knowledge and their expertise are matched with their compassion which makes this difficult and somewhat challenging process a more positive experience and one that came to a positive resolution. They are also really good about working with you to make sure you understand all outcomes and consequences before deciding on a course of action. I would recommend Ryan and his team for any of my legal matters going forward and hope you do the same.

We worked with Hetzel Law Office, LLC on a personal injury case for our young son. The case took over a year due to delays caused by the defendant, and Ryan and his staff keep us informed throughout the entire process. They were always happy to answer questions and provide guidance. Our son had to give a deposition, and Ryan explained things to him in a way that made it much less scary. We were happy with the settlement, and are really glad we hired him!

When I started my journey down a lawsuit, I felt scared and anxious, didn't know a thing about it. Yet, at every step, Ryan explained things clearly and without issue, he made it digestible for me to understand. He is a diligent and great lawyer, he didn't cut corners, he kept his paperwork on point and just was a great person to work with. I had no issues and that's thanks to Ryan Hetzel.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of West Bend, Wisconsin?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
