Bradley Jansen is an amazing lawyer, he has helped me and my loved one through so much. He has completely helped me change my life around for the better. I hope he can do the same for others. He cares about his clients, and truly fights for them in court. I would recommend him to anyone! Thank you so much for everything you've done and still are doing!

I just want to start by saying he was an awesome attorney to work with! Super nice guy and Very on top of stuff and very thorough. Always got back to me right away and helped answer and questions I may have. Was facing drug charges for something I didn’t do and my case has been dismissed. I highly recommend him!

I did a little research before hiring an attorney (results cost etc.) I could not be happier. Although court can be unpredictable, we received the desired result. He was always very responsive and very confident on how to handle the case.

Brad was referred to us late in the process. We had a Title IX situation we were dealing with as a family and Brad did a great job in a short turn around. His schedule was tight with previous commitments and yet he made time for us and our family when we needed a professional to consult with. Brad did a great job and we would highly recommend him to help in matters he specializes in. You can tell he cares and really puts in the work if he takes on your case or situation.

My wife was injured in an automobile accident. We found ourselves in need of legal advice, and we contacted. a local law firm, where we were introduced to Doug Keberle. He agreed to take the case, and quickly got things moving in the right direction. Doug was very helpful, and explained the process to us in detail, answering all of our questions, and putting our minds at ease. During the process, he kept in touch, and kept us posted on the progress of the case. He was always available to speak on the phone whenever we needed to contact him. He worked closely with the medical providers and our insurance company to make sure things went smoothly. If you are looking for a professional, experienced Personal Injury attorney, I would highly recommend Doug Keberle!

I live in Washington County and was injured in 2017 on the highway on my way to Milwaukee. Although I thought of hiring a Milwaukee law firm, I had heard Keberle, Patrykus & Laufenberg only handle injury cases and have had great results. My attorney was Doug Keberle of Keberle, Patrykus & Laufenberg. I could not have been happier with his representation over a period of almost 3 years. He kept me informed of everything happening on my case and obtained a great result. I would recommend him to any one in the Washington County area. There is no reason to go to Milwaukee.

My mom passed away from ovarian cancer in 2015. Mr. Keberle took on her case before she died (she hired him) and that gave her hope. After she passed, the lawsuit was forwarded onto me. Attorney Keberle co-counseled with another firm and now her case is in the federal MDL. When the hospital treating my mom could not find her slides, Attorney Doug was persistent and got the necessary medical documentation to move the case forward. Mr. Keberle is organized, very intelligent, hard-working and works well with others on a collaborative front - especially in co-counsel situations when dealing with BIG companies. My mother meant the world to me and I just don't want to let her down. I just wanted to take the time to personally recognize Mr. Doug Keberle and his firm for helping those in need - he gave my mom hope and the end goal is justice. Thank you Mr. Keberle. I would highly recommend this firm and Mr. Keberle if you need justice for yourself or a loved one.

I had 2 cases that Bill handled for me. The first case I ended taken a plea bargain that Bill had negotiated for me. He felt if I had gone to trial I would a 75-80 percent chance of a not guilty verdict, but if I lost I was looking at 3-5 years in prison. My family decided the risk was to great and the punishment was to excessive to risk and Bill got me a 2 year probation instead. I am grateful for him everyday I wake up. In my second case, me my wife and my daughter were served a search warrant and as a result of this we were all given municipal tickets. the search was an illegal entry into our home and when Bill filed a motion to suppress the search, he was inundated by the DA's office calling him and telling him that if we did not pull the motion that they would dismiss all charges and reissue them as criminal charges. Bill and I had several talks on this matter and I told him I would not give up my constitutional rights given to me as a citizen of this country. Bill told me each time he was proud of me for standing up for my rights. Well sure enough the state did what they said they would do, dismissed the charges and reissued criminal charges. when I called Bill on this matter, he told me flat out, he did not feel comfortable about defending us, due to the fact he felt he could be a witness in a civil rights lawsuit against the state., and he recommended to me a lawyer who hit a grand slam homer in our suppression of the search. Now what lawyer do you know would walk away from being paid. Honesty, integrity. and trustworthy are not to be taken lightly, and I stand for Bill in all of these character traits he possesses and highly recommend him in any criminal case you might have.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of West Bend, Wisconsin?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
