As a fellow attorney, I recognize good legal work and good law office customer service. Attorney Rice has given my referrals excellent service. I've attended some of the hearings and note that attorney Rice recieves great respect from court personell. He is thourough with his preparation and discusses the case consistently with the client. Attorney Rice also helps the client with other issues following concluding issues with the court - which he is not required to do. He is approachable and is very good at making the client understand the possible outcomes and how to prepare. I am very pleased in how he reprrsents my referred clients.

Attorney Rice and his team are phenomenal when it comes to taking care of people. My case was very time consuming and caused many headaches. Attorney Rice took his time and guided me. This meant late calls and many of meetings but he was willing to get me through this difficult time. Mrs. Bell, Attorney Rice paralegal, is the icing on the cake. She always came through. If it was to offer me some assistance or to just offer her prayers for my family, she always was just a phone call away. Whether it is racial discrimination or simplified criminal defense, he is not one that I would recommend. He mislead me twice. Once over a criminal case where I was falsely charged with harassment. He claimed that he resolved the issue however the prosecutor assigned to the case confirmed that he did not. I had to after weeks of him not speaking to me about the case. Every time he did answer the phone, he would set a date to discuss the case, then he would never keep it. His excuse was always that he was in court. When we finally did speak, he went on a rant about how he had to take time out from his three year old daughter to speak with me. This is right after another client of his, the one who recommended him to me, told me that my case wasn't enough money for him, and how she herself had to constantly call and send him text messages to get in contact with him. If you don't want a case, don't take it. Do not sit here and claim that you are going to fight for someone to receive justice then do the complete opposite. When we did talk, he tried to pressure me into dropping the charges against my harasser, claiming that she was under pressure and gave into it. He completely sympathized with her instead of his own client. He only wanted to pressure me into dropping the charges, and threatened to get off my case if I did not. So that just makes it jusitified for her to harass me and my family, slander me and my family's reputation, and file false charges against me potentially ruining my life further? Then he sent me a text message talking about how his feelings were hurt. What kind of attorney sends their client a text message talking about their feelings? Get real. When Richard Rice threatened to get off my case because I wouldn't drop charges against the other attorney, I told him that if he was he needed to remove his name so that I could hire another attorney to respresent me since the court still had him listed as my attorney. Rice would not remove his name from my case, preventing me from being able to hire legal representation. This was his underhanded way of forcing me to drop the charges because I had no other way of hiring someone else, and would have entered the courtroom without an attorney. I felt like I paid him to defend my harasser because he was more concerned about her well-being than mine. He continued to say that she was under pressure which is why she continued to racially harass and slander my name. For him to be talking about the pressure she was under, why would an attorney be talking to the harasser of his client about the case directly and not her attorney? My harasser made me aware that she had spoken with him several times. As your client, you're not supposed to be discussing your client with the one who the case is against. That itself is a breech of trust. The second followed after I had already resolved the false charges in the criminal case by myself. Rice claimed that he was going to file a lawsuit against my HOA for the racial discrimination and harassment I had been enduring. He waited until after the deadline to give me a call, while trying to get even more money out of me. I have recordings and other means of proof to back it all up. He does not return calls, does not communicate, nor does he seek the best interest of his clients. To him it is all about money, and he does not have an sincere bone in his body. I spoke with his paralegal, Mrs. Bell, several times. She told me that she would have him give me a call and to return all of my documents. She even called me herself to see if he had reached out to me. He has done neither, and as a result I was forced to file an official complaint with the Alabama Bar Association. He thinks that just because he is an attorney he can get away these things, but he can not. Nothing is slander when you can prove every word that you have stated. To everyone who reads this let this be a warning. Do the research for yourself. Do not trust reviews, especially when they are all five stars.

Richard Rice is an exceptionally compassionate legal expert. Most attorneys understand law but few demonstrate Mr. Rice’s care and effectiveness. He demonstrates a great degree of patience and gentleness with clients while reserving keen, well-coordinated “attacks” for the courtroom —their legal defeats are strategically mapped and precise. I can honestly say that Richard Rice is a lawyer that is for the people. No matter how big or small your case may be I will always recommend Richard Rice. Long story short, I was told by another law firm that’s on billboards and the main face on commercials (A.S) after getting the run around for a whole year certain things about the law and what can and can’t be done to me firing them and hiring Mr. Rice who lite the flames and worked on my behalf and not the insurance company nor the state. Bottom line if you want what you deserve…. FIRE ————- AND HIRE RICHARD RICE LAW FIRM!!!!!!!!

Not the best lawyer for discrimination lawsuits. Wish I had found someone who actually cared about my wellbeing instead of a mechanical and rude try hard. After the case was said and done dude didn’t even know my job history. Was he bought out from under me? Who knows. I would just look elsewhere if possible. I originally wasn’t gonna say anything but it’s important folks know about attorneys who pretend to work for the people when they in all honesty exploit them for their own gain.

Richard kept me in the loop the entire time, even if it was just by text messaging. He made sure I knew what I was going into with my case and gave me all the details and peace of mind! Wonderful attorney to work with!
