I would never recommend hiring this firm. It was the worst experience I could imagine, in an already difficult time. I hired them for a divorce/custody case and Johnnie barely listened to a word I had to say and was more interested in pulling up Facebook and talking about how good looking my ex husband was. Extremely unprofessional to say the least. They came up with an agreed order with the opposing counsel without ever even SPEAKING to me. An order I did not at all agree with, nonetheless. I was unable to attend our first mediation appointment and contacted them to let them know that I was sick. Instead of rescheduling or coming to any kind of agreement that would be suitable for both parties, they billed me for the entire mediation and set the case for trial. I paid $3000 to have NO HELP or actual legal counsel and would have been better off handling on my own. They refuse to give a refund and have even taken on a client that is a complete conflict of interest directly with my case and are now representing her. She has stated that they have told her things from my case, so if you want attorney client privilege this is obviously not something they take serious at this firm. I am having to hire another attorney, not only to help with my current divorce/custody case but also to go after them for all of the unethical and illegal behavior they have committed. A nightmare to say the least! Don’t do it.

Both Woodruff and McCaney could not have been better advocates in our daughter’s custody case. They were professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and also assertive in court. We just made another appointment with them for estate planning we would never use anyone else. Highly recommend.

Mrs Woodruff is an amazing attorney and Hands down one of the best! From the very beginning I have truly felt that she cares about me and my case! I have sat in a courtroom many times over the past 7 years dealing with a divorce/custody issues and every time I was worried what might happen. But when Mrs Woodruff took me as a client , that was the first time I wasn’t stressed or worried!! I knew she was going to handle everything better than anyone else! The only attorney I will ever refer!!!

Johnnie Woodruff is one of the worst attorneys I have ever had knowledge of. She preferred to be paid in cash and did not do any work on my behalf once she was paid. She was hard to get in touch with and hardly ever returned emails. She did not listen to my needs and spent most of the time forwarding emails instead of expressing my needs to the opposing counsel. She was very rude and unempathetic while also speaking negatively about many other attorneys. I got nothing in return for all the money I spent and she is a very unethical and unprofessional person. I would Never recommend her to anyone unless they are looking to simply throw away cash.

We really appreciate johnie woodruff for all she did for us I would recommend her to anybody she is a go getter and that is what we needed and we had a very good outcome we got our granddaughter and she is very happy here

I have worked with the Woodruff & McCaney Law Firm on several occasions. They are a phenomenal team to work with. There is no doubt that they are one of the best law firms in the Shoals area!

Maurice Mccaney is literally the worst lawyer I have ever seen in my life! He will tell you that he is not in it for the money but he clearly is!! He will take your money and stop returning calls!! He does not look out for your best interest at all! Please look somewhere else!! He definitely cannot handle any criminal legal crimes, I wouldn’t even trust him to defend me against child support. As a young black person we went to him because we felt he would help and represent us but he mislead us and did not try to help at all! He wouldn’t explain the discovery from the police and after he would help us at all! I think he is afraid to stand up fight in a real case! Please if you want to be represented to the fullest get a REAL LAWYER. Not someone who is always out of the office and cannot return calls after he receives your money! He will smile in your face and play you to the left. Prevent yourself from being in a situation like me and my family!

Ms. Johnnie Franks Woodruff was an excellent partner and ally while navigating a difficult situation. There is not another attorney I would want representing me in Lauderdale County. She is confident, knowledgeable and respected and I recommend her to others looking for an attorney to represent them well.
