1/14/25 was the day the Charles Johnson Law Firm cleared my son case. It was a long stressful 10months. My son was falsely accused of assaulting a police officer. We know the issue with a black man being accused by a white officer. I can go on about but I will not. God lead me to this law firm and I am grateful that I stuck with them. They spoke on behalf and had my son best interests in heart. Thank you Charles Law Firm Family for well job done

Title: “Unethical, Unprofessional, and Part of a Systemic Problem – Avoid at All Costs”
Review:
I trusted Charles Johnson to represent me in a critical legal matter involving my rights as a parent and the safety of my child. Instead, I encountered unethical conduct and a lack of professionalism that I believe reflects broader systemic issues within the legal community.
1. Failure to Follow Instructions:
Mr. Johnson refused to file motions that were critical to my case, despite explicit requests and legal urgency. Instead, he pursued strategies I advised against, which I believe were contrary to my best interests and to those of my child.
2. Broken Promise for Refund:
After withdrawing from my case, Mr. Johnson explicitly promised in writing to refund my retainer. However, he later reversed that promise without justification.
3. Neglect of the Best Interests of My Child:
Mr. Johnson’s inaction and disregard for my instructions directly contributed to delays and worsened the legal situation for my child. His failure to address critical legal violations has exacerbated the harm my child has endured.
4. Part of a Larger Problem:
I believe Mr. Johnson’s actions align with systemic issues of unethical behavior within the local legal system. His failure to prioritize the law and his client’s needs reflects a disregard for justice and ethical standards. It is my opinion that his conduct perpetuates the very systemic rot that undermines trust in the courts and legal professionals.
5. Unprofessional Communication:
Mr. Johnson and his staff failed to communicate adequately, delayed responses to critical matters, and ignored requests for accountability. These failures reflect a lack of professionalism and integrity that no client should have to endure.
Conclusion:
I believe Mr. Johnson’s actions have caused irreparable harm to my child and my legal case. His refusal to uphold his professional and ethical obligations is unacceptable.
Recommendation:
I strongly advise against hiring Charles Johnson. In my experience, his actions contribute to systemic issues in the legal community and have caused significant harm to me and my family.

We were given a referral to Mr. Thomas Coan by someone very pleased with his representation. Thomas worked with us for a year as there were a number of extensions. He listened to us and gave us a clear plan of action to prepare for court. He was honest about the possibilities of how the case could turn out, which allowed us to prepare if it went to the negative. He took many notes and asked a lot of questions. There was a video of the incident which he viewed multiple times.
We had a number of friends and family that came to court with us. When the case was dismissed and there was much rejoicing, he was genuinely glad and even joined us all for a coffee celebration! We highly recommend Mr. Thomas Coan.

I retained Thomas after my previous attorney advised me to plead guilty to a felony that I did not commit. Thomas actually spent the time to examine all of the prosecution’s evidence. He picked apart and disproved all charges before it went to trial. He relentlessly fought for me and my family every step of the way. Thomas was exceptional at communicating and responding to my questions quickly. In the end I did except a plea of a class B misdemeanor. This was a great win considering the original charges were measure 11 felony and 2 class A misdemeanors.
I would highly recommend Thomas Coan to any person facing criminal charges.

I can't say enough about Grant Cook, representing me in two different cases. In two separate courts. One case against a landlord. The other a family court matter. I found him to be thorough and an excellent communicator. Kept me in the loop with information as he received it. He spoke in a way that gave me a clearer understanding of the laws as they pertained to my cases. I know it can be frustrating for some who hire other representation and feel out of the loop or spoken down to. Not so with Grant. I fought the VA system for 10 years. When Ron filed for his benefits he didn't doubt the VA, he had no idea the ride I was in for after his death. He lived long enough to receive two expedited denials. Before he died during his last rounds of chemo, he would ask me if we could afford an ice cream cone from McDonalds. This man whom i loved with all my heart knew i counted change for his ice cream. As all who watch their loved one give up their fight. This was my hell. I continued what he had started. Fighting the VA.

I contacted Matt’s office based on a few recommendations from friends. I had consulted with a few other highly reputable family law offices in town first and when I spoke with Matt’s group, they took the time to answer my very detailed questions and gave me case examples to make me feel more comfortable. I wasn’t rushed off the phone or given short answers. I had a unique situation that involved a paternity suit as well as real estate. Matt was able to navigate through the complicated portion of my case with ease. He was also able to offer solutions when I would get upset with the actions of the other side and help me get to a resolution faster. Although no one ever gets exactly what they want when it comes to a lawsuit, the outcome was suitable for me. While attending college, I was placed in removal proceedings to a country where my life was in real jeopardy. My mentor and I went to numerous attorneys who admitted that they could not help me and that my only solution was to go back to the very country where I would be killed. But, going back was not an option for me. Luckily our search ended when we found Andres. From the start, Andres was warm and honest and he told me that we would work together in the various legal strategies he proposed. Through several client meetings, Andres discovered that I had an asylum claim. The journey was long, complicated, and very difficult for me because I felt that I had no control whatsoever over my life. However, working with Andres made me feel supported and comforted at every hearing and interview. If you have been in immigration proceedings, you will understand that not all attorneys make you feel this way and that it’s really great when you find an attorney who sympathizes and believes in you. Finally, Andres won my long and complicated case. I met with Jon Tycko and Lorenzo Cellini in the late summer of August of 2007 and, from that moment on they diligently proceeded with my case. At all times I felt as if I was the only client they were working with. Jon and his staff are truly professional and customer-friendly; the best I've ever experienced. Theresa went above and beyond for me. Even when the other side got underhanded and really dirty, she had confidence in me as a client and it made me feel safe and secure in situations where I might have doubted myself or been afraid, such as giving my deposition (which otherwise would have terrified me). She was communicative where I asked her to be, but also kept things private from me when I requested it due to the stress of my case. She was knowledgeable and helpful in all manners and was always good at educating me on areas that I was confused about. I can't imagine my case would have gone as well without her. She was patient, understanding, kind, and trustworthy. I was able to reach a settlement with her assistance and I couldn't be more grateful.

Lisa is by far the best attorney I have worked with. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the law, competent, hard-working, determined, reasonably priced and genuinely cares about you and your case. I had an interstate case that was rather complex. After speaking with Lisa, I knew she was the best attorney for the job. I had called about 7 other attorneys and they were all confused about how to go about my case and they were hesitant as to my next step. Not Lisa! Lisa knew exactly what to do! She was an angel. She is also one of the hardest working attorneys I have ever encountered. At no time did I ever feel in the dark about what was going on. She kept me up to date on everything and made sure I knew what was going on at all times. She oftentimes worked from home into the wee hours of the night (thanks Lisa). I was referred to H. Manual Hernandez (Manny) by another attorney as I was being investigated based on allegations made that I had committed Elder Financial Exploitation.
This was unequivocally the worst fear that I had ever encountered. I could literally write volumes in this review regarding how well Manny conducted my case. I appreciated him never patronizing me by sugar coating issues. He always articulated very clearly the issues regarding my case. He was fastidious regarding being well prepared and was outstanding regarding how he respectfully interfaced with the lead criminal investigator, as well as numerous others. He consistently demonstrated an extraordinary level of professionalism. I felt that he was sincerely my advocate, not just my attorney. He always treated me with dignity and respect. Manny is extremely intelligent and has impressive credentials such as, having been a Federal Prosecutor for numerous years; he has a substantial knowledge of numerous areas of other legal expertise and is highly regarded by his peers. He is a credit to his profession. Manny is a very ethical attorney and I was impressed with his core values. Regarding his law firm, his paralegal is outstanding and as well as his investigator. In my case, Texas Tech University's Office of Student Conduct and Resolution Center were investigating allegations of Assault, Threat, and Intimidation, while Investigators for Lubbock county investigated a few criminal allegations. As someone who was looking forward to graduating, moving, and starting a professional career, I began to wonder how I would deal with these very serious allegations. I already knew that TTU has a track-record of being unfair and uncooperative when someone is accused of any wrongdoing on campus, so I became concerned that these false accusations would be upheld by TTU and that they would REVOKE all of my degrees. It did not take much thought to realize that I needed to hire Meghan, so I did. As soon as she started my case, I felt a sense of relief and comfort because I knew that I would not go through the process alone. After a few months of working with Meghan and her keeping in touch with the DA's office and the investigator, the DA's office determined that there was "No Merit" to the accusations made by the individual, so they left me alone; however, TTU refused to give it up. In fact, TTU continued pursuing this for almost an entire year. While TTU does not allow an accused individual to have representation, because, as they will continuously repeat, "this is not a legal process"; Meghan was still incremental. She communicated with TTU often, sat in all of the meetings and pre-hearings with me, and always had a game plan. Even when TTU would give us less than 24 hours to review 100 pages, Meghan was ready and prepared to answer all questions and to make corrections where needed. She worked as if it was her degrees and livelihood on the line, which I appreciated. Oddly enough, it appeared to me that she was actually liked by the people who handled my case at TTU, which only helped my case. Meghan also requested all evidence the DA's office collected to find no merit in the accusations, and she was able to retrieve it ALL. She then sent all of the evidence to TTU so that we could use it during the hearing. She also made sure that all of the information we ever sent was included in my file so that I could use it during my hearing because TTU will exclude favorable evidence. In fact, Meghan caught several mistakes made in the evidence TTU collected, evidence that we asked to be included in my file was not and should have been, and she made them change the wording or paraphrasing of key information to make it fair for me. TTU's process is not fair and they deprive people of their bare constitutional rights. I will say one thing about this experience: It takes a great lawyer to win a case, but it takes a master of the law to win a case in a world where there are no rules, rights, or fairness. Meghan is definitely a master when it comes to the law. A year later and TTU found me not responsible for the laundry list of allegations they charged me with. Not many attorneys handle these types of cases because they do not feel they can do anything because of how unfair TTU is and because they are unfamiliar with their made up rules, but Meghan certainly is not intimidated. I definitely recommend Meghan as an attorney, especially if you have to deal with TTU.

I hired Meghan in 2015 to fight an inflated DWI charge on my behalf. Not only did she resolve the case with the assistant D.A. before we ever saw the inside of a court room, but she succeeded in getting the charges dropped to a much more accurate and fair charge. Simply put, justice was achieved.
