Professional and knowledgeable; I highly recommend Ellsworth Family Law. The process was so smooth and they made me feel comfortable and confident along the way. I put my trust in them to get me through my custody matter and I’m so glad that I did!

My husband and I went to Ellsworth Family Law towards the end of 2017 hoping to resolve some issues with my children’s biological faither and potentially moving forward with my husband adopting my kids. I was nervous about the process and had no knowledge about the steps that needed to be taken. Ellsworth Family Law and the entire staff was overwhelming helpful, reassuring and sensitive to our specific case. We appreciate them and will always remember them as being a part of our family’s story. I HIGHLY recommend Ellsworth Family Law to anyone in need of an attorney’s guidance/assistance involving your family!

Just remember to stay calm, nothing is going to happen over night. Call Ellsworth Family Law and let them handle everything, it’s a huge stress relief. Glenn Halterman represented me twice and I couldn’t have been more pleased with his professionalism and ability to turn a terrible situation into a very positive one. 10 out of 10 stars, highly recommended.

Ellsworth Family Law represented me for 13 months. They quit due to $350 needed to be repenlished for a retainer fee 30 days before my hearing. I would have been happy to pay had Mr. Ellsworth followed up with me but was on vacation and failed to. The office is very unorganized to say the least. I had to reach out many times for follow up on what to do. One thing the office does is sends out communication via E-mail and mail. Trust me you’ll get the bill for it. Only decent paralegal was Lori. Her compassion radiates and definitely makes you feel welcomed. Mr. Ellsworth has knowledge with the judges however; he doesn’t have compassion. I’ve heard from other offices in the valley my experience with them is pretty typical of him. If anything interferes with Mr. Ellsworth’s vacation time he throws a fit. I met all deadlines the office gave me to accommodate his schedule. Yet, the only thing consistent was the bill I received each month; in exchange very little effort put on my case. Duplicate billing. Which the billing is handled by his spouse- Gail. I had to pay 13k for an organize a file. So if you’d like to pay to waste money with zero follow up. This attorney’s office is for you. I’d highly suggest to continue to do research. I’ve had to pay nearly $900 for one simple question. After meeting with a paralegal, follow up e-mail and a meeting I paid to meet with Mr. Ellsworth.. I still didn’t have an answer after 2 months and my final bill.

I can't imagine anyone in a divorce or child custody matter that wouldn't want to hire Mark Shields. The comfort I have felt that my case was handled properly is beyond expressions of gratitude for Mark. His thought process, knowledge of the law, ability to explain the process to his clients and his ability to write is second to none. I highly recommend Mark and wouldn't use anyone else.

I was referred to this firm due to my attorney closing her doors. I was assigned Robert Newell who poorly handled my emergency custody hearing to which the abusers where given back my child. Then emails and phone calls he tells me he knew nothing of my trial which was bogus as I spoke to the other attorney and she stated he knew about my trial. He convinced me to fire him so as to get a possible continuance as he saw no winning my case and stated my previous attorney had led my case astray. I gave a 3$k retainer and upon the quickness of his withdrawal I was supposed to receive some of it back as I understand there’s payment for the 30 mins he poorly helped at my emergency hearing but this firm used almost a grand per the emailed receipt of a supposed refund to my account that never happened. His actions put me in a pickle and caused my case to be bundled more and me have to get a rush attorney. I do not recommend this firm due to this attorneys poor representation and advice. I especially don’t appreciate the amount used for this attorney to tell me to fire him.

I contacted Gillespie and Shields law firm after I moved to Arizona and needed my custody order changed from Colorado to Arizona. I had previously filed pro se and gotten a court date, so time was already ticking down when Robert got on my case. Robert was very professional and set realistic expectations at our very first meeting. He definitely over-delivered as far as the outcome of the case, I got everything that I asked for because of his meticulous, logical and reasonable approach. While the fees are expensive, I would consider this money well spent for the fact that we now have a lasting framework in place that is tailored to my specific case, and I am saving money in the long run by having a reduced child support obligation. I had a (relatively) complex custody matter, IV-D for child support and we initially we had to deal with some jurisdictional matters, as the case originated in Colorado and was moved to Arizona. Robert demonstrated expertise in interpreting and presenting the UCCJEA rules to the judge, on examining witnesses he was very effective in highlighting the points that we were trying to make...nothing was lost in translation. I would highly recommend Robert to anyone who is looking for assistance with child support or modification of custody. I have been through four family lawyers during my custody battle and he has by far achieved the best outcome. Very satisfied, thank you!
