If i could give ZERO STARS i would. Took $5000.00 from me only showed up 1 time In person to court, promised me help and DID NOTHING!!!!!!!! SENT ANOTHER GUY TO A SETENCING AND HE WAS 2 HOURS LATE AND BROUGHT HIS TENAGE SON WITH HIM... MIND YOU... I HAD NOOOOO IDEA I WAS GOING INTO SENTENCING!!! The deal I walked out with was the deal I got in the very 1st day I went to court. Could've saved 3 months and $5000.00. DO NOT HIRE HIM!!!!!

I was contacted after I made an inquiry about being represented by this law firm after all details I was told to find out if the other party who was at fault to contact her insurance company and see if she had insurance, I was also told that they would not be able to help me get a rental car that it would be up to me to do this as Gretchen stated if the other party did not have insurance they would not represent me and they would close out my case !! Wow after being rear ended no fault of my own I was told to do alot of foot work that I believe should have been done by their firm. In pain still I chose to resend my signature for representation. I am appalled that they treated me as if I was to come up with all the answers and having my red Corvette totalled and a trip to the E.R. I surely was not prepared to do all the leg work just to get the answers they already had to put me in a rental car to see the doctor . 2 thumbs down for the lack of professionalism and experience I had to go through after my accident. I hired Attorney Cates for two things. The first was to try to correct a sentencing order that essentially put a felony conviction on my record. Through the filing of a well-written Post-Conviction Motion and oral argument, Attorney Cates convinced the Court to change the offense to a misdemeanor with no supervision. The second issue was to seal criminal charges that were dismissed without any probable cause. He continues to work hard on this issue and convince the Court that my charges fit into the sealing statute. Initially, the Court declined to grant the motion, but Mr. Cates was adamant and ask the Court to immediately reconsider. He also said he is more than willing to work out minimal monthly payments in the event that this issue is appealed, which is a significant help to me considering I am unemployed and care for a parent who is a disabled veteran. Attorney Cates is always responsive to emails, calls, and questions. His dedication is evident in his detail and legal research put into his motions, his courtroom presentations, and his drive for results. Based on my experience, I highly recommend him to other individuals who need an attorney specializing in criminal law. Thank you for everything, Dwane!
