Lisa Douglas Attorney Social Security Disability applications should be handled by a knowledgeable and experienced attorney from the very beginning and the FIRST time you apply! I can't stress this too much! Legalese is a language that they speak fluently. And you need that. Don't waste your time trying to do it yourself. Let them do it for you the FIRST time in order to get your best chance of succeeding. You can actually hurt your chances by doing it yourself and not letting them do it the FIRST time. AND you are wasting your time even if you do speak legalese. Because there are many factors involved. You will benefit greatly from their experience and have the best chance to succeed. This word to the wise should be sufficient!
