This law firm is engaging in classic bait-and-switch tactics. Their advertisements claim "You pay a single flat fee if and when you win" and "You do not pay our fee unless and only when we win your case." However, when you call them, they demand an upfront payment of $1700 that is non-refundable regardless of whether you win or lose the case. This behavior is dishonest and constitutes false advertising. --- EDIT --- The response from the law firm lacks logic entirely. While I can understand the need for an upfront payment, it makes no sense for it to be non-refundable, especially if the case is lost. As a lawyer, one would expect that they possess a certain capacity for reasoning and that they can differentiate between a complaint about an upfront payment and a complaint about false advertising. In this case, I am not disputing the need for an upfront payment. What I am complaining about is false advertising. However, when I contacted them, they demanded a non-refundable upfront payment of $1700 regardless of whether I won or lost the case. This constitutes false advertising and is dishonest.
