I'd like to share my personal experience with Rafii and Associates, the law firm I chose to represent me following an accident in June 2021. My journey with them had its ups and downs, and I want to provide a comprehensive review from my perspective, considering all aspects of my interaction with the firm. The Positives: Initial Recommendation: I initially opted for Rafii and Associates based on a co-worker's recommendation, which gave me a sense of trust and assurance in their services. Case Manager Jennifer: Jennifer, my initial case manager, was an outstanding support throughout this process. Her diligence, empathy, and commitment to keeping me informed about the case's progress and my appointments were truly appreciated. The Negatives: Lack of Communication: After Jennifer's departure from the firm, I experienced a significant decline in communication from the remaining team. This inconsistency created unnecessary anxiety and left me feeling disconnected from the progress of my case. Settlement Discrepancy: One of the most troubling aspects of my experience was receiving only about 28% of the final settlement, especially considering the fee structure initially communicated to me: 33.33% for standard cases, which the firm charged as 40% initially, and later reduced to 38%. This discrepancy raised concerns about their fee structure and the transparency of the billing process. Sayra's Handling: Sayra's elusive nature and lack of responsiveness further exacerbated the communication issues. Inconsistent Follow-Up: The need to repeatedly initiate contact with the firm for updates left me with the impression that I was imposing on them. Timely and proactive communication should have been a fundamental part of their service. Management Contact: Frustrated with the lack of communication, I reached out to the office to voice my concerns and seek assistance from management. Surprisingly, I have not heard from anyone in management, and the only response I received was a call from Sayra almost immediately after my attempt to contact them. Disheartening Conclusion: Toward the end of the case, Sayra's statement that she had "gotten as much as she could" was disheartening. It seemed that my frequent calls for updates had eroded their commitment to securing the best possible outcome for me. Fear of Upsetting: After Sayra's call, I began to feel hesitant about reaching out for fear of jeopardizing the success of my case. Unfulfilled Potential: In hindsight, I believe Rafii and Associates had the potential to achieve better results for me, but the breakdown in communication and the perceived lack of effort toward the end of the case left me feeling disappointed. In conclusion, my experience with Rafii and Associates had both positive and negative aspects. While there were strengths initially, the overall experience was marred by a lack of communication, a discrepancy in the fee structure, and a sense of unfulfilled potential. I believe clear and consistent communication, transparent billing practices, and more empathetic guidance in post-settlement situations are fundamental areas for improvement in their services.
