Every child custody case is different. Every custody case is difficult. Erica and her team were kind and helpful from the very start. When I first given papers for court I didn’t have an attorney – then either a day or two before court date I called around and I was referred to Erica’s office. I called and even though my phone call to them was in a last minute panic, they didn’t hesitate to help me. Without even seeing me they were able to make sure I was prepared for court and Erica was there. I don’t know if I could pick a most difficult part about a child custody case; especially mine, because everything about this is tough, stressing, and draining. Erica, Katie, Amanda, and Janell helped me understand the process and kept my hopes up. They were there to listen and took action when necessary. This is all still very tough especially knowing that I might have many more years of this. That is why am thankful to have a genuine, intelligent, and responsive team like Erica’s. There are many times when I would call or email their office multiple times a day. Instead of making me feel like I was inconveniencing them or my concerns were invalid, they addressed them. Like I said earlier, they took action when necessary. Their main concern was for my daughter. They always wanted to make sure that every decision was what would be best for her. Everyone in the office was organized and would call to remind me of any meetings or court dates and make sure I was prepared for it. They also would call to check how I was doing, especially after a court hearing that was more difficult. I know I could go on. The very important part is that Erica and her team will be there for their clients. I never knew what to expect from my situation. To be honest I was very nervous and scared. The moment I spoke with everyone at the office, I instantly felt more at ease. They were willing to work with me financially, which helped a great deal. Going through a custody case does enough, let alone have to worry about finances. There was not one aspect of my case that they didn’t take on. If you are looking for a team that has your child/children’s best interest at heart then stop looking, you’ve found that team. If you are looking for a team that takes the time to listen to your concerns, sits down with you to address your concerns, and develop different options – then stop looking, you’ve found that team. If you are looking for a team that cares about how you feel and how you are handling the situation, again you have found that team. Nothing about child custody cases is easy so it is important to have a team that can help you navigate through everything so you can focus on the most important people, your children.
