Last October 15, 2022, I experienced a tragic motor vehicle accident. I remember that during that day, I was with my 8-year-old daughter. I was driving on Central turning on the left into the 52nd place (crosswalk with no light) intersection, and I was stopped when suddenly I was struck from behind in the middle bumper. My body was forcefully accelerated/decelerated during the impact inside my vehicle. I recall striking my left elbow against the door area, and hitting my left knee against the dashboard. I immediately felt scared and nervous. I was also shocked. It took me a while before I realized that I was in a car accident. A few moments later, the police arrived at the scene along with the paramedics. The scene was investigated and a police report was made. I was immediately transported to LAC+USC Medical Center where I was X-rayed. I was prescribed medicine and was discharged on the same day. Due to the unfortunate incident, I sustained personal injuries. I suffered from neck pain, lower back pain, bruises in my right knee, and left elbow. At that time, I was desperately looking for an Injury Law Firm. Thankfully, a good friend of mine named Martha referred me to the Beverly Law Firm. I immediately called them and an appointment was scheduled. They called back, and I had an interview about the incident. They arranged my medical treatments as well as my insurance. They took care of everything. I was then referred to a chiropractic clinic (Ress and Rehabilitation & Chiropractic Center). These treatments consist of specific chiropractic manipulation, electrical muscle stimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, intersegmental traction, and heat therapy. In addition, Dr. Han Jin Kim later performed an acupuncture treatment, which I truly benefited from. The treatment continued and I was advised for an MRI of my lumbar spine. I was periodically examined and appeared to be temporarily benefiting from all the treatments that were administered. Then I was referred to orthopedic care because, despite conservative treatment, I continue to complain of pain and functional deficits with activities of daily living. Since I was referred to orthopedic care, I was advised to maximize rehabilitation, chiropractic physical therapy, and a home exercise program. Adequate use of oral anti-inflammatory treatment was also advised. However, due to the failure of conservative treatments and anti-inflammatory treatment. I was recommended for lumbar epidural steroid injections. So on March 7, 2023, I proceeded with the procedure. After discussing the risks and benefits, I signed the informed consent. After a few hours, I tolerated the procedure well. There were no complications noted. I was then discharged from the facility. The conservative treatments/therapy were really helpful for me. Although the process was quite struggling. Since the incident, my daily activity or work has been negatively affected. I continued working even after the incident so I could support my family. Additionally, I continued attending my lessons at the University. However, I had difficulty with finger movements, bending, dizziness, anxiety, depression, making mistakes, not thinking properly, and concentration. In regard to household chores, I also experienced difficulty with laundry, cleaning, washing dishes, and preparing meals. I also suffered from sleep disturbances due to the pain. Through the difficult times, I still managed to carry on in life because I needed to. My inspiration and strength was my Family. It felt like a roller-coaster adventure but I'm still grateful for another life. I would say my journey with the Beverly Law Firm was smooth sailing. The moment that I will never forget. The scorching sun was beating against my olive, gold skin as a drop of sweat trickled down my face, slowly and gradually. The glorious scenery dazzled, and the cool summer breeze blew through my lush brown locks. The seat belt, tight and stuck, was the only support keeping me from thumping down onto the sizzling metal. Thick smoke filled the car and blinded me. And that’s when I realized that our car had smashed while I was turning left from the middle lane. Someone tried to cut traffic over the turning lane, and as the car accelerated they hit ours on the driver's side. I panicked, the car creaked and tilted a little. I was in agony, thinking I had my children with me. I counted to three and arched my back outwards. I felt like swearing but no one would hear me. I looked down at the bubbling metal and once again I counted to three. I ripped my seat belt off and dropped onto the scorching surface. The pain was excruciating and worse than experiencing death. I tried my best to get out of the car instantly to rescue my children. 4th of October 2021, was the most devastating incident that changed our entire lives, along with my three sons. Leaving trauma and anxiety with my entire family. As I recall, after the collision there were police and an ambulance in the area. They saved us from the chaos. An incident report was made, as we exchanged our personal information with the police. I was sitting at the back of the ambulance and was looking from afar, I was still in shock. My three sons were given first-aid medical assistance. Afterward, my wife rushed to the scene and was crying in shock, and in pain looking at what had happened to us. Luckily we were not hurt that much. I suffered from neck pain radiating down between my shoulder blades and lower back pain. We were trying to cope with what happened. These injections have given me significant relief, and the pain is currently 0-1 out of 10, but I denied having surgery. It was really sad for me that my kids and I had experienced such trauma. My daily routine had changed a lot because of the pain I was experiencing during the incident. I can barely sleep during the night because I'm having flashbacks to what happened. Even my children experienced anxiety even though they weren't hurt a lot. One thing I learned from this horrific event is that no matter how careful you are in driving there will always be a danger on the road, those reckless drivers don't care about anyone else's lives. So I hope everyone should be cautious in driving for everyone else's safety. I was very glad that the Beverly Law Firm had my back. On June 20, 2022, I was involved in a motor vehicle incident. It was a Monday morning, I already anticipated heavy traffic that was ahead of me. During that day, I was looking for a new week with lots of positivity. I left home and expected heavy traffic was rule out the road. While I was waiting in the red light listening to my favorite song and sipping my favorite latte, suddenly another vehicle rear-ended my vehicle. Upon the impact, I was in panic and scared. Even though my vehicle had a minimal dent, I still felt sad. After the collision, the driver who hit me and I settled on our own. We both exchanged information (driver's license or insurance). Then I continued with my daily routine. I still went to work hoping that everything would be alright. Later that night, I started to feel discomfort. I feel pain in my neck, back, and left leg. I also experience dizziness when standing up or lying. I tried taking over-the-counter pain medications but it temporarily took the pain away. I even went to the Scripps Mercy Hospital where my vital signs were checked, and I have prescribed another pain medication. However, due to the persistent pain, I eventually decided to search through my Facebook account and look for an expert Attorney for personal injury. Since I haven't obtained imaging of my cervical and lumbar spine, the Doctor requested an MRI. I was also provided with neuroleptic and muscle relaxant medications to help my pain related to insomnia. Right after, I presented myself to Precise Imaging to have an MRI of my cervical and lumbar spine. When I had my follow-up consultation, my medical records and other results were reviewed. I was then recommended to continue with my home exercises, moist heating pad, lumbar support orthotic, and pain medication. Additionally, I also had a cervical epidural steroid injection which had a great benefit for my unresolved back pain. I am married with four children, and I am used to being a happy and loving wife. I guess the incident had negatively impacted my life, I mean the way I thought about life before was beautiful, but now I feel like there's something missing. Aside from being depressed due to the accident, there is something new. Maybe because of the constant mood swings and pressure at work. I had difficulty sleeping, which led to insomnia and I had to take pills for that. Even if I was injured, I still went to work and I felt unproductive every single day. My husband and my kids played a big role during my recovery. I was a client of the Beverly Law Firm, with Michael as my lawyer and Olynda as my case manager.
