I recently worked with Stephen on a prenup agreement - had a great experience! He promptly answered all my questions and kept me informed at every stage throughout the process. Beyond his impressive legal expertise in family law, Stephen also showed a level of compassion and understanding that my priorities and concerns are heard/addressed. Would highly recommend him. You would be naive to choose any other attorney in the state of California. We worked with over a dozen different legal teams across California, and Stephen was the only “human” we had the pleasure working with. Rather than equip us with toxic ammunition to attack each other through the court process (I promise you every other law office will try and put you on the offensive against your ex), he found common ground where there was none in sight, he led us to peace when the violence/confrontation was at an all time high. I don’t write reviews, but given the weight of going through a divorce, I felt compelled to share this. So whoever reads this, knows they need not search any further for their divorce attorney. The process sucks but Stephen makes it bearable while being genuine and TRUSTWORTHY. It’s SoCal, not common in an attorney. Hope this helps someone going in to what I just came out of.

I can never thank Stephen Chen enough! Compassionate, understanding, attentive, genuinely caring for what my kids and I were going through. Took my case very seriously. Always gave me fast response when I called or emailed. A very determined and really really good in what he does. Praise God, we had a favorable outcome. After interviewing 3 offices, it was clear I was going with Stephen. Stephen is a husband and a father, and he really gave me great advice on how to approach my case, rooting in integrity and fairness. He wasn't pushing me to do what's best for me, but what was best for my family. And that showed me he really cares about humanity. He's not a yes man, but a great man! My case went as smooth as a baby's but. I only ended up paying $150 more than the original retainer you projected based on what my case would entail, which was so honorable, as many would be afraid of more bills stacking up. My case reached a settlement within 2 months, and the court approved it within 24 hours. It was honestly record time with no bumps or bruises. I needed a good lawyer for my contentious divorce and Stephen was my number one pick based off reviews and after our consult, I knew I wanted him on my side. I liked how he was straight to the point but also offered compassion and words of encouragement when things got tough. He even told me how I should compile discovery to make it less work for him and ultimately less expensive and I really appreciated that. His billing was extremely fair for his level of work and he didn’t nickel and dime everything. He also took us down the path of least resistance and most cost effective. I never had to initiate anything or reach out asking for updates because he was always on the ball and has lightening fast response times. He did everything he could to keep me out of court and he not only did that but we settled on a number that was below my max. I’m forever grateful to Stephen for guiding me through these rough 9 months and leaving me in a good spot for the next chapter of my life. If you find yourself needing a family lawyer, please do yourself a favor and meet with Stephen first. I cant recommend him enough.
