As a US citizen, I was in a unique situation where my wife had obtained an IR1 visa while pregnant, and after the visa was issued, our child was born abroad in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, I did not have the required five-year physical presence in the US to apply for a CRBA for my son, leaving us uncertain about what options were available to us. I did some research and came across a potential solution, which was cited in 9 FAM 201.2 IMMIGRANT TRAVEL WITHOUT A VISA AND/OR PASSPORT and eCFR :: 22 CFR 42.1 -- Aliens not required to obtain immigrant visas. This citation stated that a child born after an immigration visa had been issued does not require a visa to enter the US. However, when I contacted the US embassy, they informed me that this did not apply to immediate relative cases, which my wife's visa fell under. I consulted with several lawyers, but none of them seemed to know how to handle my situation. Some didn't even acknowledge that they didn't know the answer, leaving me feeling frustrated and uncertain. That's when I came across John Q. Khosravi. From the very first conversation, I could tell that he was different from the other lawyers I had spoken with. He was genuinely interested in helping me and took the time to understand my situation fully. John did extensive research on my case, reaching out to CBP and other authorities to gather information and guidance. He was thorough and detail-oriented, providing me with clear and concise instructions on what I needed to do to ensure my son and wife could enter the US without any issues. When it was time to fly to the US, I was nervous, but John had prepared us well. We brought my son's birth certificate with us, and as soon as we arrived in the US, my son was granted an XR3 visa, allowing him to become a US citizen. What really stood out to me about John Q. Khosravi was his ability to correct a mistake made by the US embassy. As I mentioned earlier, when I reached out to the embassy about my situation, they informed me that the citation I had found did not apply to immediate relative cases like my wife's. However, through his research, John discovered that the embassy was actually incorrect in their assessment. John's attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of immigration law enabled him to find a solution that had been overlooked by the embassy, ultimately allowing my son and wife to enter the US without any issues. Overall, I cannot recommend John Q. Khosravi enough. He is an exceptional immigration lawyer who goes above and beyond to help his clients, even correcting mistakes made by US government officials.
