I needed to consult with a personal injury attorney, and I heard through the grapevine that Kelly Balamuth is one of the best in the biz. The grapevine was correct: Ms. Balamuth provided me with expert legal advice that was enormously helpful. She is a highly experienced civil litigator who consistently earns the highest ratings from both her clients and colleagues. Her ratings are well deserved: As I found out, she is a brilliant advocate who knows the laws and local practices that will win civil lawsuits, and also knows the techniques necessary to successfully negotiate with insurance companies to settle claims without the stress of going to trial. She was generous with her time and expertise. She is honest, kind and collaborative. She seemed genuinely motivated to help me win my case as painlessly as possible. Her fees were reasonable as well. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone who has been injured and thinks they have a serious personal injury claim.

In 2012 my wife was rear-ended while driving and she suffered a very painful soft tissue neck injury. Naively thinking the insurance company would be reasonable and cover the cost of treatments plus compensate her for the pain / suffering / inconvenience, we didn't hire an attorney. That was a huge mistake as the insurance industry is focused on paying as little as possible and they know that as an individual I lack the bandwidth and resources to fight them. The net is that for this particular incident in 2012 we had to settle for a paltry sum that didn't even close to covering the thousands of dollars we spent in medical co-pays alone, not to mention the pain and suffering my wife endured trying to recover from her injury. Fast forward to 2015 and my wife and daughter were involved in a no-fault, multiple car accident and while the property damages were extensive, thankfully the injuries were again soft tissue ones. After that earlier experience I knew I had to find a good attorney as I faced the prospect of fighting the insurance company to cover reasonable treatments so my wife and daughter could heal. For those who are familiar with soft tissue injuries, these are one of the more challenging / difficult cases for an attorney to take on. Call it serendipity or providence, I did a web search on local personal injury attorneys and clicked on the website for Kelly Balamuth. Kelly has published some interesting articles about personal injury law and after feeling confident she distinguished herself from the pack, I gave her a call. I am so thankful I ended up approaching Kelly as I found her to be very professional, knowledgeable, personable, and most important, realistic in helping set appropriate expectations. Kelly didn't promise me the moon, she helped me understand these were difficult cases, and yet she was willing to take on my challenging case to help me do battle with the insurance company. I very much felt that Kelly was my advocate and in spite of very little gain for herself, she was willing to put forth the effort to ensure we reached an equitable settlement. How I just described Kelly was put to the test when the insurance company decided (no surprise) to low-ball their offer. What was unique about Kelly is that she didn't fold up her tent and say that's the best she could do and then take her cut of the settlement. Kelly continued to fight the insurance company and negotiated with the medical providers to lower their fees so that my wife and daughter would get a larger settlement. On top of that, Kelly even significantly reduced her own fees (waived them completely for my daughter) as she was so upset at what the insurance company was doing. I hope this gives you a deeper perspective of the type of attorney Kelly is. She fights for you, she's honest, and she's willing to do everything in her power to make the situation as fair as possible. I highly recommend Kelly as an attorney and am very thankful for all the hard work she put into my case, while in the grand scheme of things, really wasn't that important. I hope my family will never need a personal injury again, but if we do, Kelly will be my first phone call.

I contacted Ms. Balamuth via Avvo because I was involved in a car accident. She called back immediately the next day and inquired about the details of my accident. Unfortunately, the amount of damage involved was not large enough for her to handle my case. Nevertheless, she was very helpful in suggesting possible next steps that I could take on my own. Hopefully I will not be involved in any accident in the future that's serious enough for Ms. Balamuth to get involved in. But if I do, I will not hesitate to have Ms. Balamuth's as my counsel.
