I am going to be brief here but anyone can email me for my longer detailed statement. I am using my father in laws account.
Fast forward to the first court date she didn’t even bother to show she sent her stand in. It was the first court date , they were just moving to another date,so we didn’t really see it as a problem with her not being there. This was one court “appearance”.
Second court date came around , she showed up late didn’t even bother to meet with us beforehand or with our incarcerated family member. She ran out of the court afterwords not even bothering to speak with our family member afterwards. Which once again nothing was done court date just moved again.
Third court appearance, she was not only late but when the judge asked if she wanted to consult with the defendant before beginning she said no. She wasn’t able to get a deal nor get any charges dropped like she had said she would do in our initial consultation. We get to talk to her afterwords once again reassuring us that this is going good . At around 730 pm that night my boyfriend gets a call from Sarena stating that Frances needs another $15,000. Quick summary, we got Frances on the phone and expressed to her we felt she did not live up to what she had said she could do in our consult, she said “oh you think I’m not doing anything ok” clicked the phone. We decided to message her saying we would proceed with her we didn’t see another option at that point. We heard back from her telling us not to stress that she would contact us back. A week went by never heard back we decided firing her was our best choice.
When we texted Sarena and Frances a week later after not hearing back from them , sarena said she was just about to call us. That it had been her birthday so she forgot and then tried using a scare tactic stating that she had spoken with the DA , and they were trying to give my brother in law life. I was so confused at that moment but we were firm with our choice to fire her.
Fast forward to the court datewhere she was to give the new lawyer all paperwork. She didn’t even show up. Her assistant was late and the judge said that she needed to personally come herself and could not send an assistant.
(November 29) Wednesday comes she shows up late . This was much to the judge disliking. I am happy that the judge reprimanded Frances Not only did he say he would also report her to the bar, but he proved her to be a liar. She had not been in court earlier like she said she was ( the judge called the department she said was in that morning she wasn’t there) The judge was also worried that Francis would be biased against our family member and not hand over all the paperwork. While we were sitting in court Miss Frances was however working diligently on something else. I step outside because I noticed that Frances would not put her phone down I felt she was up to something. Turn my phone on outside court, see about three voicemails from My father in law. Hewas receiving emails of Farnces office trying to take out various sums of money from his account ranging from $500 to $2500 . At this point I was just fed up with Miss Frances. We had signed a contract , our payment wasn’t even due at that time , we had already paid the fee for that month and not once did we say we weren’t going to finish paying her. She broke our contract. WE DID NOT AUTHORIZE THESE BANK WITHDRAWALS. So I step back inside court and wait for Miss Frances. She waits for a sheriff escort as she’s walking to the elevator I ask her to please speak with me and give me some respect I just want to ask her questions she laughs and says I don’t need to talk with you. I was very upset and told her that she would not make fools out of us and I will do whatever I can to make sure people are aware of how she does her business.
After many attempts of texting / calling her and Sarena we were then blocked from calling them and never heard back from them.
I have court transcripts as well as bank statements with the time stamps showing everything I have stated .

I would like to mention that after interviewing few criminal defense attorneys, we retained Attorney Frances Prizzia to handle a friend’s case in the Orange County District Court. Frances heard us with outmost care, compassion and professionalism. During the first meeting she put our worried and anxious minds at ease and explained the various scenarios and possible outcomes of the case. Mistakes happen in everyone’s life and everyone deserves a second chance. Frances is a great listener; she dissected the case and explained the steps and procedures very clearly in layman terms too.
She worked with the DA and negotiated a favorable outcome leading to the dismissal of the case. Of course some formalities were to be done. A seasoned criminal law defense attorney friend (from a different California jurisdiction) said this about Frances: “It sounds like her attorney is on top of the situation.” and “…the disposition suggested by her attorney would be in her best interests.”
Frances' client never had to go to the court. Frances represented and navigated the client on the formalities and procedures. A great thing about Frances is, she is very easy to work with and communicate.
Furthermore, Frances is very reachable via text messages and easy to work with. She even gave a discount on her reasonable fee. Her staff is always reachable and return your messages. Highly recommended!

Call Frances and Sarena when you need a good attorney. Responsive, transparent, and diligent. Their cost of doing business is competitive. Hopefully you never need an attorney, but if you do call Frances Prizzia, she knows her trade, does it well.

Good lawyers do exist and Jeff Roberts is one of them. I had the extreme bad luck of retaining three horrible law firms in a row who almost annihilated my originally strong civil case, but Roberts was able to salvage what he could and with strong trial lawyering skills and experience turned my case, which by that point no other attorney wanted to touch, into a winner at trial. Jeff Roberts believed in me and believed in my case. Roberts stands in stark contrast to the previous attorneys who destroyed my case.
Of the three previous law firms before Roberts took command, Makarem & Associates is arguably the most vile since Ron Makarem fraudulently advertises himself as a highly ethical winning jury trial attorney with a legal malpractice certification. First, Makarem lost all his jury trials taken to completion. Just ask him how many jury trials he has won. Secondly, Makarem used his knowledge of legal malpractice law to better commit legal malpractice against his own client and to better escape punishment for those actions since he is well versed in the loopholes of malpractice law. The fact that Ron Makarem shockingly still has his license to practice law is a complete perversion of the legal justice system and an embarrassment for the field of law. On the other hand, Jeff Roberts, a beacon of light, is the antithesis to these Makarem-like roaches that corrode the public's trust in lawyers and the legal system as a whole.
One horrifying example of Ron Makarem's misconduct representing me took place in a mediation that was a setup. Makarem manipulated and coerced my elderly father to attend a mediation for no purpose other than to use my father as a pawn. During this time my father was still in shock dealing with my mother's ALS prognosis, which was 6 months to live, and Makarem knowingly exploited this. My father wanted to join me in leaving this mediation that was completely pointless and Makarem with Jean-Paul Le Clercq, as an accessory, prevented him my father from leaving. Makarem even assaulted my father inside the mediation room when I was waiting for my father outside in the hallway so we could leave the mediation together. A police report was filed against Makarem for assault and battery charges and Makarem was investigated by detectives in Orange County. Extremely disturbing is the fact that Ron Makarem advertises himself as an Elder Abuse specialist. A common theme with Makarem and Associates is the firm's nefarious intentions behind their slick marketing and PR campaign of fake smiling faces and quotes from dead heroes who are turning in their graves that Makarem is misappropriating their likeness for his firm's stomach churning behavior. Makarem also stated to me after I told him that I took some Krav Maga that "Nothing good could come from Israel."
There are many lawyers in Southern California who claim they are "trial lawyers" who have not once tried a jury trial or if faced with trial would do anything possible to push and even coerce their clients to take a measly settlement. Jeff Roberts is the answer to what is currently lacking in the legal field today, attorneys who have the guts and determination to take cases all the way through jury trials and win verdicts before a twelve person jury of one's peers. This is especially true if there is a gross mismatch between the value of the case and the settlements offered as it was in my case.
Jeff Roberts has the people skills, oratory, confidence, and trial experience to communicate and present to the jury your story to get you that win. If you need to take your case to trial he is the man.
