David Clark was recommended to me after I had been through three attorneys, all of whom took my money and then did nothing to get the matter resolved. Mine is a complicated divorce involving legal abuse, financial abuse, emotional abuse, coercion and control, and domestic violence. Mr. Clark was the first of my attorneys to treat the abuse aspect of the case as if it mattered, and also the first to follow through on promises he made. He has been diligent in pursuing several avenues to get me a fair financial resolution, and to demand that my husband account for the abuse he perpetrated on my body and my spirit. Mr. Clark takes my concerns to heart, he takes all aspects of my case seriously, and he is an effective and creative litigator. My case has been in trial for four days, and I have witnessed Mr. Clark navigate complicated financial matters, guide me with grace through a very difficult testimony, and deftly expose liars on the stand like a Musketeer wielding a sword. I hired David Clark earlier this year. David Clark was referred to me by a friend, and I could not be happier choosing to select him to represent me in my divorce and custody case. At first I had high hopes with David, we went to court about 4 times, as the case went on it was like everything we discussed got thrown out. The defendent in the case lost the right to overnights, then he put the defendent on the stand, he just lied never turned in anything and then David agreed to everything against our wishes.. When I addressed these issues I was told that they already made a judgment so matter what we did it was not going in our favor. Now we are stuck, out a whole bunch of money and the child is still being mistreated.

I hired David Clark to deal with a Domestic Violence Complaint and a Divorce. I was an abused wife with a criminal case against me for domestic violence initiated by my husband. My criminal attorney would not return my calls. Finally, after a two week episode of sexual abuse, my husband served me with divorce papers and moved out the same day—without even paying his share of the bills. At this point a family member referred me to David Clark. David treated me with care and respect. He listened to my complaints and quickly got an order giving me exclusive use of the family home and took control of the equity we had in the home. He also referred me to a criminal attorney he knew and worked with in the past. He worked cooperatively with his co-counsel to get my criminal case dismissed. He also brought a Domestic Violence case against my now ex-husband. Finally, David worked with me to organize my facts for trial and took the time to understand the position on distribution of debts and assets. Finally, the divorce case settled. David worked tirelessly for months to advocate for my best interests. From when he started to when the case ended, the entire case changed from my being the victim of abuse to empowering me to make my own terms for settlement. I enjoyed working with him.

Approximately 7 years ago I entered a fixed fee contract with an attorney other than David to handle my divorce. Soon after, the first attorney assigned the case to another attorney who was non-communicative and, I believe, incompetent. When I sought to fire the attorney, I was threatened by both attorneys with charges in excess of the fixed fee, if I fired them. Frightened and intimidated by the threats of exorbitant charges for attorney’s who should have been on my side, I felt I had no choice but to let the divorce proceed. Finally, when the judgement was not satisfied by my ex-husband, I turned to David for help. First David got my attorney to agree to let him take over the case, he drafted and filed the appropriate motion to enforce the judgement and began negotiations with opposing counsel to settle the enforcement issue. David has brought a level of honesty and finesse to my case which is uncommon to my experience of the legal profession. Now, I have the good fortune to have found David amidst all the other attorneys in the field to represent me in the legal arena. David brings his sharp mind to home in on all the necessary elements involving my case. His ability to see the big picture and to offer strategies that bring forth the most beneficial results is outstanding. Lawyer review I was able to hire Mr. Clark 14 months into my case. It was a very complex and contentious case, but he simplified it with ease. He de-escalated the case gradually and in months, the case was resolved. I have high anxiety when it comes to law and court matters. I never know what's going on or how or what to file. I never know what to say. The minute I had the chance I hired Mr. Clark who has handled family and business law for my family in Redding for many years.
