My partner & I contacted Maya for creating both joint and individual trusts prior to purchasing a home. Maya consulted us on the pro's and con's of both and was very clear in how her process and timelines worked. She was knowledgeable and prompt on all our calls with her. She was very friendly to talk to during our meetings and we are glad to have found an estate attorney in San Diego. I've recommended her to all our friends and colleagues.

I am so thankful I was referred Maya Pinchman. My father passed away, I was the Trustee of his Trust. I had 4 siblings and 1 of them had to have a Special Needs Trust and I had no clue what I had to do. Maya assisted me throughout the whole process, helped me feel at ease and I learned so much. I went to Maya for my mother's estate plan and also for my wife and my estate plan. As a former practicing attorney myself, I found her to be very thorough, professional, direct, and -- most importantly --- honest. We are now going back to her for some assistance with LLC formation and new amendments to my mothers trust. Our interactions with Maya have been good experiences and I would recommend her to others considering similar services. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that she expects you to call her at appointment times instead of her calling you (other attorneys I have worked with have offered to call me); this is likely to be a very small issue for most people, if an issue at all (also, last time I forgot to call so she ended up calling me anyway - sorry Maya!). Also, in our experience, her morning availability was a bit limited at the time. As I understand it, however, this was a result of her prioritizing her family over her work, which I respect deeply. Again, I'm very scrutinizing when it comes to attorneys, and overall I found Maya to be a very competent and trustworthy attorney, and I continue to trust my estate and my mother's estate with her firm.

Maya is extraordinary! I worked with Maya and Steven for over a year on a family member’s Estate and Medi-Cal planning. I knew from the start I was in experienced hands, we could accomplish our goals, and they complement each other well. We had the pleasure of working with Cecilia Chen in the recent sale of my dental practice on Kauai, Hawaii. We had initially planned to work with a local attorney, but after having some difficulty getting a response from him, we spoke to our Henry Schein transition broker, Christy Conway, and asked her for a referral. She immediately recommended Cecilia, and we are so grateful that she did! Cecilia was very knowledgeable, responsive, accessible and easy to work with. She clearly had a lot of experience working with dentists, including DSOs. Cecilia helped us with four documents – the Letter of Intent, Asset Purchase Agreement, Lease, and Employment Agreement. She provided sound guidance and advice, in a very timely manner, and there was never a concern whether or not she was putting our interests first. She listened to our questions and concerns, simplified the legal jargon, and provided information and examples so that we could make a decision of how to best handle each situation. The legal document review is just one part of the overall sale of the business, and is a process in itself. We had many document revisions between the attorneys, that included negotiations between the owners. We wanted someone who would consider the pros and cons, and would always represent our interests. This is just one of Cecilia’s strengths. Looking back, we know that having Cecilia as our attorney made the experience a lot less stressful than we thought it would be. We don’t think we could have reached the finish line without her, especially in the short time frame that we had. Maya Pinchman assisted me with setting up my trust and I could not have asked for anyone more knowledgeable. She walked me through the entire process and answered all my questions. I have to admit that while I wanted to finalize all the paperwork after my Mother passed away, and create a new Trust, I just didn't want too, and was pretty slow in getting things done. Maya was always kind and helped me get it all done in a reasonable time frame - I would have never done it on my own. Expert legal advice, but also patience and kindness - which is what is needed with end of life matters. I would recommend her to everyone, and encourage you all to think about a family trust when life is calm and you don't think you need one.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I was referred to this firm by a family friend a little over 1 year ago, and they have been a godsend. My Mom suffered a severe TBI and is still in a subacute facility slowly recovering from her injury. Her primary insurance was exhausted early on in her recovery process, and I was told by almost everyone that there would be no way for her to qualify for MediCal long term care with the size of her pension. Luckily I found Maya at the exactly right time, and she was able to help my Mom legally qualify for MediCal before her primary insurance coverage ended. Maya is the sole reason that I have not had to give up my entire life and life savings to be a full-time at-home caregiver for my Mom, and for that I am eternally grateful. Additionally, she has guided me through the most traumatic time of my life with the utmost compassion. She helped my family navigate difficult conversations regarding the future of our finances, and went above and beyond what I ever expected from an attorney. I can't recommend this firm enough, they are simply the best out there!
