Joe Tobener has helped me with many baffling rental rights issues in the past. Tenants and landlords don't always get along, its human nature. Sometimes landlords can be Bullies. Money rules the world. Navigating the complicated world of San Francisco rentals can be overwhelming. There's so many facets to it. I personally rely on this office for all of my landlord tenant concerns. They offer phone consultations. Great deal, and very knowledgeable advice.

I got kicked out from my landlord in 2015 July. They raised the rent $400 found out new tenant. I was living in the house under rent control. I found joe and Jackie from internet. I actually sent several emails to tenant lawyers. They gave me the most fast response. I went there office in person and tell them about more detail. They both are very knowledgeable and confident. It took less than a year. We didn't go to the court. We went to mediation. In June 2016. I got so amazed by how she dealing with this mediation. Great negotiations skill. Thorough, efficient, HUMANE - how many law firms are described this way??? I found Joe Tobener by Googling "SF Tenant's Rights Attorney". All these news articles popped up quoting him. I called their office just to ask if I was getting a fair buyout on my apartment. They answered on the first ring(!), took some brief info and told me someone was going to get back to me later that day (!!!) -- FOR FREE (!!!) The lawyer asked me smart questions for 45-minutes, said she was going to confer with the partners and get back to me. True to her word, she did; giving me options to pursue or not. I had to ask her what she would do before she'd give me an opinion. The topper: I asked what I owed them - $0.00. I highly recommend Tobener, Ravenscroft.
