When my father-in-law and I were looking for an attorney to update his estate planning documents, Stefanie was a God-send. I was with my father-in-law at every meeting. She made the process easy for him. He felt heard and understood and at ease that what Stefanie helped him put in place was exactly he wanted. I appreciated her style so much. Years ago as a financial advisor she was the type of attorney I wanted for my clients. Her advice was spot on. Her follow-through impeccable. She knew her "stuff" but had that unique talent for putting her expertise into understanding language. She did not dodge complicated issues, but helped my father-in-law figure out what he wanted to do. She asked important questions and listened for what my father-in-law was really saying with his answers. Then when my father-in-law passed, as executors of the estate my husband and I engaged Stefanie again to help us oversee the estate transfer process. Highly recommend Stefanie West. I met Stefanie several years ago when she was representing a client who was planning a very generous bequest for the nonprofit organization I worked for. At the time I thought to myself, “when we draft our trust, I’m calling Stefanie!” Well fast-forward into the COVID-19 pandemic, and my husband and I finally got around to creating a living trust. Stefanie made it super easy collect key documents, make decisions, come to closure on outstanding questions, and then implement the plan. She also has great follow up in gently nudging us to upload our living trust, POA, etc. into the cloud, complete the beneficiary designations, and retitle the remaining bank account. Final review and signing was easy, relaxed, and thorough. We signed the trust agreement outside, socially distanced, in Stefanie’s yard. Our profile? Gay SF couple not wanting to saddle our heirs with selling our home through probate. One of us wanted provisions for nonprofit causes as well as family, the other, only family.
