John Grubb is that rare mixture of honesty, intelligence, integrity and wisdom. In working with John I knew that he would do everything he could to get the best possible outcome for my children's future, and for me after being a stay-at-home Mom for many years. I have 3 children and one of them is special needs. John procured for us a judgement that will allow me to continue to be available to take care of all my children well beyond the typical alimony allowance and one that will provide lifetime support for my special needs child. My case was complicated, communication with the other party was difficult, and it went to trial. Throughout the process, Mr. Grubb and all the associates I worked with in his office kept me up to date, answered all my questions, explained the processes thoroughly, were sympathetic and honest, and respected my wishes regarding things to be revealed during the trial. There are many attorneys who know the law, but I wouldn't trust my future to anyone else in the courtroom.

It's very difficult to trump the first two reviews - they pretty much said it all about Caitlin. But here goes...
First of all, if you have never been through a divorce before, I pray that if you have to, your soon to be ex will not put you through a contentious battle, most especially if there are children involved. Because believe you me, if you think you have any idea of what lies ahead for you, think again. There is no amount of hyperbole that can describe how insane the family law court system is. The bottom line, it's all about making money off of vulnerable, despondent, and already stressed out people. These lawyers DO NOT care about you, or your children. They only care about running up their bill and making money. They will do whatever they can (often times in collusion with the opposing counsel) to add and/or create even more conflict in your divorce because more conflict means more money for them and their firms. Again, if you think I'm just bitter and exaggerating, go online (Google, YouTube, etc...) and do the research for yourself. An ugly divorce/custody battle often leads to suicide, bankruptcy, loss of job, depression, illness, etc... So please people - don't do this to yourself and most especially please don't do this to your kids! Part ways peacefully, because if you don't, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
This is why I am glad I used this angel of an attorney throughout the majority of my long divorce/custody battle. She cares about her clients and most especially their children (she's a LMFT to boot!). She is not in it for the money and will do everything she can to save you from a long, drawn out battle. She is honest, empathetic, compassionate and is a person with the utmost integrity. Caitlin will not allow her clients to debase themselves and play dirty no matter how vicious and perjurious the opposition gets. I'm so happy at day's end that I used her for the majority of my long, drawn out battle. For she helped me keep my soul and my own integrity and at day's end, I can look back and be proud someday that I never debased myself (most importantly for my child as well).
If you want a mean, nasty bulldog of an attorney (btw, they are really really really expensive!!!) than by all means do NOT hire Caitlin. However, if you are looking for a honest, compassionate HUMAN BEING to help you, then please give her a call. She will always do what's best for you her client. She will never gouge you with fees, and will fight opposing counsel with compassionate logic that sooner or later will break them down. I call her the Mahatma Gandhi of divorce attorneys!

Caitlin Burgess represented me at a settlement conference and did a stellar job detailing the facts to a seasoned judge. Her mannerisms are of the utmost in professionalism and her knowledge of the family law system is vast. Her background in psychology as a licensed marriage and family therapist is an added bonus for there are many aggressive litigants who unfortunately have a pathology which the opposing side must deal with, sometimes in ongoing litigation which lasts for years. Ms. Burgess was able to formulate a tactical plan of approach to settlement, utilizing her expertise in several areas to bring the litigation to a close without causing me to have to shoulder the expensive and time consuming burden of a trial.
There is something to be said for representation that is so client-centered. If I could give someone new to divorce proceedings advice, I would caution them to stay away from the big firms and call Caitlin first. I was originally represented by one of the firms in San Jose. They felt a bit like a Mafia; only I, as their client, was the target!
I spent a large amount of money with very little result. I found I could do better with an attorney like Caitlin in my corner. The big firms are clearly after people's money in a very high-conflict time between former partners. They actually encourage the aggressive litigant and do as much as they can to pad up their bills.
Ms. Burgess is completely against this behavior and practices with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. Over the course of her representation, she fought hard and succeeded in winning me the best possible outcome.
I highly recommend Ms. Burgess for your legal needs. Call her and schedule a consultation. You will not be disappointed.

Travers and Travers literally brought our family together. We had a rather unique experience, but Travers & Travers helped us through it every step of the way. We live in South Dakota and needed a referral for a lawyer in Texas. My sister is an attorney and asked around and everyone we talked to suggested Travers and Travers. So we took a leap of faith and it paid off for us big time. My initial phone call was with Sherrie and she immediately made me feel at ease. Travers & Travers took our case head on and did not stop until we brought our daughter home. They were very professional, but were also very human and friendly- that was very important to me. Mack went with us to court and mediation and he was able to keep us calm while waiting in between everything. He was very well spoken and had good charisma in the court room. My first attorney represented me in family court. I paid over $7,000 and got nowhere! My brother recommended Sandra Spennato so I cut ties with the 1st attorney, collected my files and started again from scratch with Sandra. Immediately, she listened to my current situation, listened to my goals, and put together a custom plan while also managing my expectations on what is realistic in the eyes of NY law. 1st thing she did was a discovery phase (which my former attorney NEVER did) looking at my ex's bank records which put us in a favorable position. I hired Sandra Spennato to help me obtain custody of my son. She is very knowledgeable and also quite the tactician. Sandra did not sell me a dream and false hope. She told me the cold hard truth every time we met and that is what I need. I have experienced lawyers that have sold me false truths and have only been interested in draining my wallet dry. Rex helped me through a difficult and emotional time when my 30-year marriage came to an end. I was extremely angry, but he saved me from myself with wise counsel.
In negotiations, Rex was exceptionally impressive. He faced an aggressive opposing counsel and was able to leave them rethinking their position. Always prepared, he conducts himself with a calmness that is reassuring.

Mary worked with me over several years through a very complex high-conflict custody case with unique legal challenges including difficult opposing counsel and multiple jurisdictional problems. Her ability to research and present statutory and case law strengthened our case until eventually the opposing party had little to argue in court that she could not competently counter with established precedent. I often encountered Mr. Salvado in court while I was a law-enforcement officer. He always conducted himself professionally and ethically. He was always very knowledgeable. I cannot possibly have enough amazing things to say about Simon Marle and his entire staff. It’s not only about the lawyer, but the support and staff behind it for me. I called Simon’s office one night, over a year ago in desperation of where to turn and what to do. If you are not a lawyer, and you are involved in any kind of legal case, things can be very overwhelming and knowing what steps to take can be tricky. I called around 6pm and Simon Marle, himself answered the front desk phone. I was very thrown off, because typically lawyer/attorneys will not handle those kinds of matters. He gave me a free consultation about 20-25 minutes on my case. Was VERY straightforward, honest, and to the point. I put my trust in him, and I have NOT been disappointed in any way. His staff, Taylor, Samantha, and Lisa truly care about the clients and really spend their time being personal with you. I love that they address me by name and not by “client”. Samantha has bent over backwards to contact other parties for me and you can tell she put’s her time into her job. She is always on top of it, super respectful and goes above and beyond. Not one time, have I been brushed off or felt like I was being annoying or I have been to well over 5-7 court hearings with Simon. Each time we have gone, it has been a complete satisfactory outcome IF not more. Simon has always been a very caring and honest man. It is really hard to find people now that do not take advantage, or who really just do not spend time with your case. He personally will pull out a file and go line by line with you and explain and questions, details you may have missed or anything you do not understand. I think for me, the best is that it runs as a family unit, and when you are dealing with family courts/judicial issues, having the same mindset in your company, reflects when the clients are in person. I couldn't believe what had just happened to me, I was accused of a felony for shoplifting. No matter how I tried to explain the situation,I was ridiculed and mocked. I felt helpless and scared then I had a free consultation with Simon. Talking to him was easy and I knew I wanted him on my side. I talked to my husband about the consultation and we wasted NO time hiring him.
A visit to his office to discuss my situation, he immediately found an error in the paperwork from the police. Simon was so on top of the case. He put me at ease.
We went to court and he didn't let any the store security get away with anything. I'm not sure we were even in front of the judge 15 minutes when my case was dismissed !! We may have lost a battle but we won the war, with that being said, Ms. Nace was very straight forward. She provided with her team, a family feeling from the team. She went above and beyond for my case with listening to everything I had to say. Every time I would call or send an email I would get a fast response and a honest one. I have been dealing with Mrs. Hawkins since 2016 and have been following her with any changes in firms she has made, which mind you are NOT many. In my last journey, Hawkins was no longer in the same role in this firm. Needless to say, it DID NOT matter, I got to work with another Attorney, Joy and it was certainly a joy to be involved and work with her. Joy was a lot more timely in getting things accomplished then I was and I certainly was able to experience why! Paralegals on up o attorneys, all communicate effectively and efficiently when involved in matters. Getting into face to face appointments, have been same day or with in hours, the next day. Very beneficial in getting quick face to face appointments, especially with a firm that handles a multitude of areas. The firm in whole, has a great relationship with other attorneys in the area, which pays dividends when working with or against the other party. Wonderful firm and other family members have even used the firm for other services.

I was referred to Leslie by another DVPO attorney. I have to say never does any attorney work overtime non sleep til morning to meet deadline not because she waited til last min but because she is constantly a step ahead of what is anticipated response from other party. I slept at midnight she worked Graveyard til Noon deadline.
My hearing is not here yet for a few days but the preparation this woman does is OUTSTANDING. I didn’t want to write a review now in fear she will be too busy for my case but I thought its only fair to give credit where credit is due.
Although I made my retainer minimal I know Leslie has well over exceeded her hours I paid her. But never once she ask for more money. I was hoping she would so I can pay her for her time. :-) happy to!
