My experience with Utesch Law, specifically with Kimberly (Kim) Utesch, during a CFI investigation was an absolute disappointment. I feel compelled to share my candid feedback, as the level of unprofessionalism and incompetence displayed throughout the process was beyond unacceptable. To begin with, the report prepared by Kimberly Utesch was shockingly subpar. It was evident that she had resorted to lazy shortcuts, as portions of the report were blatantly copy-pasted from previous investigations. This lack of originality not only undermined the credibility of the report but also demonstrated a blatant disregard for the unique circumstances of the case. It is deeply disheartening to see a professional in the legal field demonstrate such a lack of integrity and commitment to their work. Equally concerning was the manner in which the investigation was conducted. In an era where the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer a major hindrance, it was unreasonable and unprofessional to rely solely on online communication via webcam. It is simply incomprehensible that such a critical investigation would be carried out without any in-person interaction or thorough on-site examination. This approach reeks of incompetence and a lack of dedication to providing a comprehensive and accurate assessment of the situation. Moreover, the report itself was riddled with numerous errors, further exacerbating the already dismal quality of the investigation. Such a display of carelessness and negligence raises serious doubts about the professionalism and attention to detail of Utesch Law. It is only fortunate that the judge presiding over the case was discerning enough to see past the glaring deficiencies of the report and make an unbiased judgment based on the true merits of the situation. Overall, my experience with Utesch Law, specifically with Kimberly Utesch, has been nothing short of a nightmare. The poorly written report, the lackluster investigation conducted solely through online means, and the multitude of errors within the report all highlight a complete disregard for professionalism and commitment to excellence. I strongly advise against entrusting Utesch Law with any legal matters, as they have proven themselves to be unreliable, unscrupulous, and unworthy of the trust placed in them. I hope that by sharing my honest review, others will be spared from the disappointment and frustration I experienced with Utesch Law. Kim puts children in danger by not applying her professionalism to where it is needed. Luckily, my child is safe, and a bad report is easy to spot.

I was barely hanging on when I spoke to Catherine. My ex took my child it was progressing off and on and it got to the point where I no longer had parenting rights. I found a referral service and they sent me info on Catherine. I called and spoke to Catherine on Super Bowl Sunday. She took my call of all things which impressed me so much. When I told her what had happened. She agreed to help me. I cannot tell you the issues we ran into but she pushed forward and now over a year later helping me with this very messy child custody. I won! I cannot express my gratitude for all the efforts and support from her and her staff. I am so blessed to have found her!

She was used as a CFI in my case. She was appointed by the courts. It was very difficult to get ahold of her. I called her every day for 2 or 3 weeks and always got her secretary. So I left messages and she never returned them. Then she told my lawyer I was going to be in contempt of court because I had not paid her. When I finally got her on the phone, she said she couldn’t talk but would call me in a few minutes. I got an email 2 hours later stating she would NOT talk to me until she was paid. That’s exactly what I was calling her about. TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PAY HER! My case was difficult. No lie about that. But she completely twisted the story around and made false claims about me in her report. She combined 3 different incidents of abuse from my sons father into one and then claimed there was no pattern of abuse. She asked my husband questions about my sons dad, but when he answered, she said it wasn’t about the relationship, it was about my son. She then asked my husband about my son, she didn’t include any of the things that he talked about with my husband in the report, and she told him that kids are narcissistic and be careful about what kids tell you because they lie to get attention. She seemed to put everything that my son’s step-grandfather said into the report though. She said that I was mentally ill because according to a lieutenant (i.e. my son’s step-grandfather), I am mentally ill. But there was lots of evidence of him abusing me as well as my son’s father, which she didn’t seem to read or care about. I also had prejudice comments about me because of the color of my hair. My hair is blue and she stated I was unclean. I’m sorry, I didn’t know I should’ve dressed for a royal gala in her honor. But the fact of the matter is, I had just showered before she came. CFI’s are not to take sides and I feel that she did. She did say that my sons father needed help in parenting, but her report was very wishy washy. I still do not agree with her assessment that we should have 50/50 custody.

Ms. Utesch is a skilled litigator, mediator, and Child and Family Investigator. I would highly recommend her for your family law needs.
