Worst lawyer you could possibly hire. DO not use them. They sided with the ex and left me in a worse position! Horrible people!

I wasn't impressed with this law firm

I will start by saying I typically write positive reviews however, I am also in a profession where I work with a lot of military families and it is vital to protect those who serve. They do not have the advertised knowledge on federal laws protecting military families. I was a client for over one year with this agency and was lead to believe that they were military friendly and aware of all federal laws surrounding the military and divorce, FALSE! I actually was screwed out of a pension due to their negligence and lack of support. I also paid for services that were not provided. They have serval staff doing the billing and it appears that after a while they just transfer you from one to another and then your money somehow is not accounted for. I spent over $22,000 for a matter that would have been handled much better by another law firm. They took money easily and then provided false statements that contained matters of other people to justify where my money went. I lost $1800 that is not found and I had 3 staff members with various explanations. If you are CURRENT or FORMER MILITARY, DO NOT trust this practice. They will not protect your income or provide all the information you need to make decisions that will effect you for the rest of your life. Customer services from the front office staff was amazing however, not enough to represent you in court.

First off, there were no attempts to negotiate terms until the night prior, or the morning of a hearing. Because of these last minute deals, I was once on a flight to Colorado when Carrie called to say the temporary orders hearing had been vacated. Another time, I was already in a hotel in Colorado when Carrie informed me the hearing was vacated. Carrie was rushing to come to an agreement the night before the final orders hearing and miscalculated my earnings. I didn't realize that she had taken my once a year bonus and multiplied the error throughout the remaining 11 months. Carrie's figures weren't adding up to mine, and she grew highly irritated the more I questioned how her numbers were so skewed. I currently still pay that inflated rate, but since my new raise barely put me within 10% of her number, she informed me there's nothing I can do. Carrie had to have various lawyers stand in for her during several of our court days. A few minutes before our court time, Carrie would call and inform me that she had been held up. Then a random lawyer with minimal briefing would step into her spot. Really gives you the warm fuzzy. Carrie seemed to have a lot on her plate, far too much to be taking on my family case. I was fighting for parenting rights from across the country and the lack of preparation towards my case was surprising. I've also never had a professional start off most of our conversations by talking about how much they have going on.

Worst lawyers ever. Pray for there souls cause they are going to Hell

I am disappointed Julia Avellaneda, Courtney Smith and Carrie Kelly Worst lawyer you could possibly hire. DO not use them. They sided with the ex and left me in a worse position! Horrible people! If "pay thousands a month to sit in limbo" sounds like a good plan, then go with Gasper Law.

Have never written a negative review but this one is well deserved. Have used Gasper several times in the past with only subpar results. Should have learned from those experiences but took the risk again retaining Carrie K. (Co owner) for my last custody battle. HUGE MISTAKE! She missed a scheduled appointment and when I finally reached her she said”Oh I forgot””. Should have fired her on the spot. Could go on and on but why bother. Unprofessional, arrogant and morally corrupt to say the least. Single Fathers Beware!

During a divorce matter, one of the top partner’s advice was, “marry someone better next time”. Once you are $12,000 into a divorce, that is the absolute worst “legal” opinion possible. Communication was appalling. If you want to learn the law yourself so you have an inkling what is going on, then this is the law firm for you. Emails and phone calls are not returned. My case was transferred due to an attorney going on leave and I was charged TWO attorneys’ hours for the transition- that was beyond my control. When going against my ex’s attorney, I was told that the Gasper firm doesn’t play hard like “those Denver attorneys”. Unfortunately for me, my ex had one of “those Denver attorneys”. I did not feel as if I had an advocate. I felt as if I was a burden- not the client. Documents to the court misspelled my name?! I would not recommend this firm if you want any more than someone to charge you to not learn your case, do the bare minimum, and charge you to give the fantastic advice to “marry someone better next time”. Wow! Genius!

I wouldn't even give Carrie E. Kelly a one star but Allen C. Gasper did eventually email and apologize for the situation. She does NOT fight for you. She just wants easy wins and will advise you to take less despite the opposing party being in contempt at the time. My case was a modification based on contempt. Carrie spoke down to me, told me I was asking for too much despite the fact I was merely asking the courts to enforce a previous order through El Paso County. I spent a lot of money for no results and eventually switched to another attorney. This woman is too big for her britches and partnership needs to reevaluate who they want representing parents with children. If you still choose to hire Gasper, definitely ask NOT to be placed with Carrie Kelly!

John s nelly is a Crook! The only thing they were actually diligent about was finding ways to drag the process out so they can find more ways to charge you. Not only were we double and triple charged for things they didn’t even care to make sure what they had as far as evidence was even relevant. I even had to tell them info they were trying to use wasn’t even about the person in question. If I could give 0 stars I would. John the judge and the opposing party all agreed to terms and conditions in regards to court. Then John proceeded to completely ignore the agreed terms and conditions and decided to make decisions on my behalf without my knowledge and when I brought up the issue started screaming at me and my partner and being incredibly unprofessional. John will come off as cocky and arrogant at first just to try and get your business but you will soon realize how easy his tail goes between his legs once map with any enthusiasm from the opposing party. I would’ve been better off representing myself. And do plan on speaking with the state insurance commissioner and the board in regards to his poor performance and intentional negligence as well as trying to price gouge.

I had what seemed to be a hopeful consultation with Carrie E. Kelly at first, but immediately she would interrupt me, sounding rude and annoyed that I was “giving her too much information” when I was simply trying to be as thorough as possible answering her questions. She would interrupt me with such a mean tone in her voice. I felt immediate disdain from her. I literally felt like I was being treated like a criminal being interrogated. I’ve been a victim of domestic abuse and have suffered years of parental alienation and this woman showed no compassion or ability to listen. It’s the job of an attorney to listen and be present, as they are the ones hired to do a job. She not the firm will be getting my business due to lack of respect and professionalism.
