I was charged with careless driving for backing into a car on the road which is a misdemeanor. I had admitted fault to the officer that reported to the scene and was sure the criminal charge was going to stick. My fine was waved thanks to the wit of my defense and I even had my court costs payed for out of my retainer payment which I felt was in especially good taste.
