Easy to defeat pro se. I had zero legal training. Heck, I didn’t even graduate high school (GED). Ordered some law books. Read the applicable chapters. Studied the Colorado Rules Of Civil Procedure. In October, 2021, I was attacked viciously by a cat, where it took three months for my wound to heal. I had initially contacted a personal injury law firm in Longmont, who informed me that they would not be able to represent me. I then contacted the attorney firm of Hadfield Stieben & Doutt, LLC, where I received a call from Gordon Hadfield. Gordon was so understanding and compassionate, in regards to what I went through. We made an appointment to meet, at which time he agreed to take my case, even though it had quite an unusual set of circumstances. The owners of the cat were very resistant and evasive the entire time, about taking responsibility, for what their cat had done. After a year and three months of Gordon's diligence, we were able to finally come to an agreement during Mediation. The interaction I had with Gordon for that entire time was supportive and encouraging, and the advice he gave me invaluable. The other staff members, that I had interaction with, were all professional and caring. They made me feel that I mattered, and were putting all the energy possible, to help me win my case. I had a very difficult case, which made it very difficult to find a team that was willing to take the case on. Most of the personal injury lawyers I came across were only interested in the homerun cases, like drunk drivers that caused injury to an innocent party. My case was a bit more complicated. It took me nearly 2 years to find Bill Doutt, but he gave my case the attention that anyone should be able to expect. He was upfront about the chances of winning and even though it was going to take some work, he took on my case. Within a few month he had my case settled and an offer from the insurance company. Everyone of the firms employees was kind, professional and showed dedication to my needs and my case. I am so happy with the way they handled things that writing this review is the least I can do in return for the service I received. I would use Hadfield, Stieben and Doutt again without question! I do not give out many reviews but Randy Golden helped resolve my divorce. He is very experienced in family law and I later learned he educates new Judges learn Colorado Family Law. Professional and informative mediator. That motivated me to write a review. Would highly recommend before going though Judicial process!
