I found Seth online and chose him based on high reviews and years of experience. I live in NC but my surrogate lives in Colorado and I needed someone to help us through our complicated situation because we failed to prepare ourselves legally prior to conception. Seth was able to answer our many questions, give us options on how to best proceed with the legal work for our surrogacy, and even provided assistance when additional matters came up through the hospital and local DSS after the birth of our son. Thanks to Seth and his paralegal Ondine, we were able to bring our baby home to NC in a matter of days with ease. Each interaction we had was pleasant and professional and we appreciate everything they did for us during the process.

When we became foster parents two years ago, we never could have foreseen what was ahead for us as foster parents to unknown children at that time. We had no idea that we would have any involvement in the legal process of a foster child’s case and definitely did not intend to, beyond observation. However, it became apparent that the system was not looking out for our foster son's best interest and another attorney on the case recommended we call Tim Eirich. We felt very much at east after that initial call, we could tell Tim was a great fit and that he really seemed to care about kids and their best interest and had an ethical approach to how he would handle himself in the courtroom. Tim never surprised us with anything and always spoke honestly about what could happen and did not offer us false hope. His knowledge of both the legal system and foster care system is extensive and he was well versed in all of its’ many laws. Tim explained things to us honestly and clearly throughout the process. He represented us for over a year and through two lengthy, contested hearings. Our nerves were well at ease within the courtroom with Tim being the best attorney in the room by far and explaining things to us in “non-legal” talk outside the courtroom. He was professional, kind and full of grace. We could not have hired a better man for the job. We genuinely really like him too which was a great plus! Our foster son had been through a lot in a short period of time and we’re so thankful that he has been given the gift of stability! Thanks to Tim, we now look forward to an adoption day in a few short months.

My husband and I worked with Seth for the adoption of our daughter, which was finalized in September. We are now working with him on our second adoption as well. He is incredibly quick to respond and makes himself available to answer questions. Moreover, Seth is always looking out for our best interests. With both adoptions, we've had unusual financial situations arise with other parties (not Seth, but other lawyers and agencies) and Seth has always been quick to advise us and made it apparent that our best interest was his number one priority. He is direct, which my husband and I find refreshing and gives the facts without telling us what we should do. It is clear that his role is to give us all the information possible, while respecting our right to make the ultimate decision. We have truly enjoyed working with him for the past year and a half.

We hired Mr. Grob for a second time to help us with the domestic adoption of a child, and as he did the first time, he guided us through the byzantine and intimidating process wonderfully. Obviously, we loved the job he did, since we went back to him a second time. In fact, we believed so firmly in his expertise and experience that we relied entirely on his recommendations to choose the avenue we pursued for the adoption in the first place. We do not think you could go wrong with Mr. Grob. He is terrific.

Seth is a very knowledgeable and realistic attorney. I met with him before I committed to starting a family with assisted reproduction (surrogacy). He gave me a no nonsense outline of the necessary steps and legal hurdles as well as costs. We talked about the legal risks and ways to mitigate them, but also with realistic assessment of complexities of assisted reproduction. During the contract phase, Seth was very responsive and often had to respond to critical deadlines created by the timing of fertility cycles. Before choosing an attorney I did a lot of research and I found few with Seth's knowledge and experience in this highly complex and specialized legal domain. I would definitely recommend to anyone considering adoption or assisted reproduction meet with Seth to get an honest assessment.

Seth Grob recently assisted my partner and me with finalizing the adoption of our son, who was placed with us on the day of his birth. Our case was non-standard because we are a same-sex couple, and we needed to complete a single-parent adoption for me and a second-parent adoption for my partner. The first attorney we consulted told us that we could only do the single-parent adoption in Colorado, but not the second-parent adoption. We were very upset, and were considering moving to another state so that we could both adopt our son. From the start, Seth was confident that performing both adoptions in Colorado would be no problem. He assured us that he had assisted other same-sex couples to adopt in this way. He was absolutely correct. The legal proceedings went off without a hitch, and we are now both the proud legal parents of our son. Seth is smart, professional, courteous, and responsive. His responsiveness was particularly impressive; he replied promptly to my emails and called me when needed to ensure that the adoption process proceeded smoothly. I would definitely recommend Seth to others who need an adoption attorney in his geographic area.

Tim was invaluable in bringing comfort to our family during the challenging process of adopting our son from foster care. Initially, he came highly recommended from multiple individuals that had no connection to one another. When we first met him in our consultation meeting he displayed a plethora of knowledge in child welfare and gave it to us in layman’s terms. We liked the fact that his background in law related to defending children through the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center. He showed a compassionate quality that gave us confidence in his ability to help us. We sensed he could also relate to our plight because of having children of his own. After hiring him, Tim worked fervently in obtaining all of the relevant information that was needed in eventually winning our case. Tim was flexible, adaptable and accountable throughout. He was respectful to the extended family which will allow us to maintain future contact with our son's biological family. For our son's sake this was very important. In the courtroom, he once more proved to us why we hired him. That day in court he wrapped himself around our worries and fears like a warm, comfortable blanket on a chilly morning. That day was a grandiose culmination of all the hard work he had put into representing our family. We are grateful that Tim entered into our lives. I would strongly recommend Seth Grob for anyone in the adoption process. We initially met with him to determine what type of adoption would be right for us. He provided us with valuable and useful information while we were making the decision on the best way for us to create our family. After we decided on domestic infant adoption, he helped us find a great agency and assisted us in any and all manner of questions that arose along the way. After the birth of our son, we had an issue with the insurance agency that he swiftly addressed with them. It was corrected immediately and saved us a ton of work and effort that would have taken away from valuable bonding time with our new addition. As we sought to adopt a second time, he was with us every step of the way, through 2 unsuccessful matches until we ultimately were able to adopt our daughter. He also was able to petition the courts to expedite our finalization as we had circumstances that required us to move out of state as soon as possible. His negotiations with our agency saved us time and money along the way and I am very happy that we retained his services throughout both of our adoptions. I am sure that it is possible to adopt through an agency without retaining separate counsel but our process was immeasurably easier with Mr. Grob's knowledge & expertise as well as support when things were chaotic.

I contacted Seth because I have an unusual parenting situation and I wanted to be sure that the mother, the child, and I are all protected and clear under Colorado Law. Seth - who repeated told me he is an expert and specialist in this field - told me that he would represent me and estimated my legal costs would be $2400-$3000 dollars. He told me that the mother would need to get her own lawyer and her costs would be $700-$1000. At this point I told him that the mother and I are working very closely and amicably in this, and I asked if there was any other approach to making sure our situation was properly recorded with the state of Colorado. Seth said no. There was no other approach. Today - 2 days later - I went on line and it took me 30 minutes of time to find out that the state has a ready-made form to clarify EXACTLY the situation that we have. We will file it FOR FREE! It's already drawn up and approved by the state. It will take us 5 minutes. Seth wanted to charge me 8-10 hours of billable time at $290/hr for a form that the state has already created! I will be investigating whether this attempt to mislead us and take thousands of dollars for a free-service from the state constitutes a severe ethical transgression. In the meantime, I recommend you stay away from this untrustworthy man.
